With the right prosecutor and the right judge Haye can hit the joint for attempted manslaughter for this one. Stranger things have happened.
What if he had picked up a shotgun and shot it wildly aiming at Don Charles, instead injuring Adam Booth. Would that also have been defending himself? Legally swinging a tripod, pulling a kinfe or shooting with a shotgun are one and the same. A weapon is a weapon.
you are being silly - he slightly injured someone accidently whlist justifiably trying to defend himself from attack - no need to bring in imaginary shotguns.
It doesn't matter if somebody was materially injured or not. The attempt and intent to physically harm is punishable by law. Haye intended to hurt people who were not a threat to him or others with a weapon, he was only unsuccessful in doing so. Legally, he is on the hook here. It only depends on how hardball the prosecutors want to play this. Considering prosecution has about a dozen videos and photo evidence at their disposal they are probably salivating at bringing this to court.
"who were not a threat to him"????? you have to be joking - he was actually threatened and then physically confronted, (all on video) he then reacted threw a punch and was subsequently attacked by Chisora's team (who weren't involved at first) he then responded by defending himself against that team. - case closed
