Well put. The more I think about it, as impressed as I was with Floyd's win over Marquez, I realize in the end I was fooled. Sure Floyd made JMM look bad (12% connected punches), but he fought a blown up lightweight (1 fight at 135 I may add) that was slow, sluggish, and totally the wrong style to even compete with Floyd. Then I realized, how many legit welterweights could that version of JMM have beaten? ZERO.

Since Floyd's never lost a fight, you have to look at the rounds he lost. The boxers you mentioned above are the ones I had in mind. You cannot outbox Floyd. You have to try and brawl, fight on the inside, and negate that long reach (the reach of a normal 6 foot man). Castillo brought the brawling style that arguably won him that fight. Judah brought his speed and his southpaw stance to trouble Floyd. Oscar brought his volume of punches, power, and Roach's guidance to win at least 4 rounds. And Hatton brought that toughness and aggression to win IMO 3 rounds. You put all those attributes together and what do you have? Floyd's worst nightmare: MANNY PACQUIAO. Add that granite chin that he displayed in the Cotto fight. Pac's chin + Floyd's "I couldn't KO a lightweight with 290 punches" power = SUPER TYPHOON IN VEGAS May 2010.

Manny was hurt by Floyd Sr.'s allegations of steroid use. Manny's gone on record saying he's going to pay him back with pain that he's going to inflict on Floyd Jr. Anyone else here notice the tremble in Floyd's voice when he talks about Manny?

Lets be truthful here......demolishing Cotto at 145 lbs made Pacquiao a legit Welter......there is'nt any reason not to give either fighter there due who ever comes out the winner of that fight.

Pacquiao is one of if not the best fighter of his generation if he happens to beat Mayweather, and certainly Mayweather puts to a halt a great destroyer riding a wave of momentum if he happens to beat Pacquiao.

PH|LLA, say it like it is bro, if Mayweather wins, he's better p4p than Pacquiao.....and vice versa of course!:deal

Void will refuse to fight unless he gets his referee, his judges, his venue, his commentators, etc.

Why do you think Ward did what he did? How did Ward get that deal?

Ward refused to fight in the tournament unless he got "all" of his fights in his home town.

nipplefloss, just because Pac is still very good at WW doesn't mean that he is best suited in that weight division. Pac is still best suited at JWW. It just happened that there are no big names in 140lbs. So fighting at 147lbs is the way for Pac.

If you insist that they are of the same size, then let them fight at 140lbs. Pac will have no problem clearing that weight. I don't know if Floyd can even make 144lbs.
