Ok, so let's get this right....
What you are saying is that, if you have money and others don't and they want the opportunity, they can kiss your ass?

I think most of us have a bit more respect for Aussie fighters and people in general to support that view.
Mundine really is a piece of work doing this kind of stuff to those who fight on his under card. Absolutely no respect for the sport, up and coming fighters doing it tough and those who could really do with a break.

Imagine if he took an alternate view, one where he thought, hell. let's make this sport better in Australia, let's raise its profile, lets showcase some of this talkent and let's give this sport the reputation it deserves.
Having such opportunities could be seen as a real blessing, assuming someone gave a ****.

I've always said, if he spent as little as 5% of his total purse on his whole undercard (which would be between $100 - $200K) we could consistently have some of the best matchups in Aus, regional titles, commonwealth titles, guys like Vic fighting for world titles and so on (Yes at least 4 fights which meet that criteria on every show).
His undercards could easily surpass the one's Grange give us, what a pipe dream that is!

There is absolutely no excuse for putting up such **** matches apart from his pathetic need to make himself look good in the main event and line his pockets even more. You have to wonder how much he's shot himself in the foot though, as I'd be damned if an extra few hundred grand spent woudn't have given him a much greater return in the long run.

 

You reckon that extra hundred grand he had to pay Wood for the change in weight didn't affect the undercard even more than usual...?

$250,000 for what was expected to be another easybeat ?
Then the "Offer" of $200,000 to let Choc off the hook & cancel the fight.?

I'd be surprised if Garths latest deposit gets even close to $100,000 all up. :-(

You may well be right Rodin. It would certainly be interesting to see the revenue split from Wood v Mundine.

How many turned up to Acer, and of them how many actually paid? Anyone here who was silly enough to go, got a feel for attendance numbers?

Also PPV. Not a single person I know, or they know for that matter, paid the PPV - wonder how many/few did pay PPV?

Surely too, with the dwindling number of pubs now carrying Mundine mismatches, that revenue source is drying up too.


Gotta wonder if anybody actually made any money?

I think he has dodged real dangerous fights for some Years now and has used the "It's all about the money"excuse as a Smoke screen,he stepped up to the plate twice in his very manipulated career once against ottke and was knocked out and once against Kessler and fair dinkum ran for 12 rounds,has lacked the courage to step up again for some time now and I still dont think it will happen in the near future,He is fair dinkum finished.!!!!
