What are your thoughts about it?

Legit knockdown punch but was Jacobs really KTFO?

Looked like Jacobs was in disbelief after getting KD and wanted to take advantage of the full 10 count by not getting up too fast like Judah did against Tszyu. Byrd only counted to five and waved the fight off immediately, Jacobs (who looked like he was incontrol of his senses) tried to get up to argue once it waas waved but Byrd pushed him down hard as though to tell him "you're unconscious stay down."

What you guys think legit or negligence by Byrd?

yeah cause the KD was brutal. Don't think Jacobs could have continued even though he tried to get up.

Byrd propably saved Jacobs from Serious brutal Beating.
it was Clear from the point where Pirog Rocked Jacobs first time that Jacobs is NOT leaving the Ring with his own foot.

It was a bad stoppage. I think Pirog still would've have won. But the way Jacobs tried to spring up as soon as he saw the ref waive it off made it look like he was in complete control of his faculties. In that situation, you have to give the fighter a chance. Shitty way to go out if you ask me. There's a reason they give them til the count of 10.

it's Jacob's fault. He made it look like he needed immediate medical attention even though he could have easily beat the count. The ref obviously thought the doctor needed to get in there ASAP. Trainers should train their fighters for those types of situations. Don't let it look like you're unconscious.

I had Jacobs up 3-1 going into the 5th, which means it would've been tied after that round if they made it to the bell without another knockdown..

I wouldn't say it was good, but it wasn't bad either. The ref thought Jacobs needed medical attention. He didn't, but it looked like he was unconscious.

When he dropped he looked sparked. Perhaps if he'd have risen to 1 knee maybe I dunno. I don't remember thinking anything controversial at the time.

Absolutely, he was completely unconcious for a couple of seconds and if he did manage to get up inside 10 he should never have continued this fight.
Otherwise you might have seen the same thing that happened in the Frenkel vs Enzo Mac fight.

    this

if he was as conscious as he seemed at the count of 5, he shouldve atleast moved a bit before then... buddy had his hand in the air as if paralyzed

sometimes tho, i dont like how the refs seem to take the fight from men.. like berto vs hernandez

    "no... NO!" cmon man...

Jacobs has a fragile Glass Mandible. The ref called it off for his own damn good.

Unfortunately refs only have a few split moments to make the call. He would of seen the punch and the way Jacobs went down + Jacobs laying as if out cold for a few seconds and thought "this is a young kid, let him fight another day and not risk getting this brain scrambled here before his careers even begun if I make the wrong call"

At the end of the day Jacobs has an early L on his record now, not such a bad thing sometimes i.e Khan. If he goes on to win big fights and fulfill his early potential he'll be able to look back and say he made a mistake taking that fight without knowing the opponent properly, he believes he could of got up and continued and that his results since prove that.

He might even look back and secretly thank the ref for saving him from more damage, only he knows how he really felt then.

Bad but not HORRIBLE or anything. I understand it, but do not agree.

If they waived off the fight every time a fighter stayed on the canvas for 6 seconds, our sports' history would be a lot, lot different...

He could of continued, but at the same time he shouldn't lay there like he got killed.
He should have gotten up to a knee at least.

And that referee is a *****.

Jacobs tried to touch gloves after referee called a low blow, and he didnt let him.
