Agreed. Just fight anyone, fight people for the sake of fighting. He needs to stay sharp. He looked incredible versus Ulrich in October '05, and then looked like crap against Briggs in October '06, because he had a full year off.
And has looked very sharp since. He seems to look faster and faster in each fight. His body has adjusted to not having to cut weight.
Its understandable that Tomasz wants the title but if the Cunningham fight can not be staged, what other fights should Adamek persue?...how about Mormeck?..Enzo?...Kraj?..Arslan? Polska finally got its first Medal...Silver in Mens fencing....woopie.
Don't mean to bring up politics in the boxing forum, but what the hell is this all about??? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080815/ap_on_re_eu/russia_us_missile_defense Not good at all.:deal
Thats some crazy stuff. I hope its just Russia flexing but who knows. Sadly these past events have some similarities of how WW2 got started. I think Russia would quickly crumble if they attacked Poland, I hope it never comes to that point, Poland has been through enough misery. On another note Poland just got a gold in mens shot put.
Maszczyk made it to the medal round at 48KG. This kid is ****ing awesome. 2 fighters in 1. Fights from both positions naturally. Looks like a American style fighter when in a conventional stance and looks like a slick quick crafty fighter from the southpaw stance.
Well, looks like Maszczyk dissapointed. :| Hopefully he will bounce back and we will see him again. Did anybody watch his last fight? Was the score fair?
I only caught the first fight. The scoring in the second was close and he pulled it out at the end. TBH you have to judge for yourself because as we all the scoring in the Olympics is stupid. Oh well that's how it goes.....i think Maszczyk could become a nice pro fighter. He's got lots of talent.
Yea hopefully we will see more of him in the future. Wish him the best, and he still did get pretty far in the Olympics anyways. Good for him.
Also read on polskiboks.pl about Adamek preparing for Cunningham. He sounds confident but not cocky and says that he has been studying his opponent thourougly and now they need sparring partners to match his size and style. He vows to bring the title back to Poland with him and also commented on how King is keeping Cunningham inactive, much like he did with Adamek, causing him to leave. He sounds in good shape, confident, and ready. :happy:happy:happy
