[SIZE=-0] RAMA, Ont. - Former Polish champion Greg Kielsa added the Canadian heavyweight boxing title to his resume Friday night.
The 239-pound resident of Brampton, Ont., earned a unanimous decision over 267-pound Ray Olubowale of Toronto. The basher dubbed "The Steel Pole" was too tired to jump up and down in celebration.
"Nothing special," he replied when asked how he'd finish off the night. "Dinner with some friends and that's about it.
"It will be back to work on Monday."
Kielsa is relentless in his training regimen.
"He is without question the best conditioned heavyweight in this or any other country," said manager James Jardine. "His fitness is phenomenal.
"To go through that with a 267-pounder wrestling and holding you and come out ahead, I mean he's so strong and fit."
Kielsa, who improved to 8-0, runs eight kilometres every morning.
The capacity crowd of 5,000 in the Casino Rama entertainment hall booed Olubowale when, with Kielsa tossing a barrage of punches, the defending champ turned his back to the challenger to avoid further punishment late in the fourth round. Kielsa didn't know quite how to react and backed off.
    It dragged on.
"It was really, really hard," said Kielsa. "I couldn't fight in my style.
    "Ray kept holding me."
There were more boos in the sixth when Olubowale again turned his back to Kielsa. There again was not as much as a warning to Olubowale from the referee.
Kielsa rocked Olubowale twice in the seventh, but the fight was mostly about clutching, grabbing and holding.
Kielsa looked done-in after nine but, as he had for the duration, he remained standing between rounds.
Olubowale got in a couple of solid shots late in the 10th and final round. It was his best round of the night. It was too little and too late.
Kielsa was too tired to say much as he recuperated.
"I'm so tired," he said as sweat dripped from his face.
He was a four-time super heavyweight champion of Poland, and he wore his homeland's colours in the Olympics. He devoted the last two months in his buildup for the battle with Olubowale.
"It was a lot of hard work," he said.
His next fight will be in the United States, said Jardine.
"After we get in 10 fights, we'll get into the rankings," he added.
    Olubowale slipped to 7-3-1.
The heavyweight bout was on the undercard of the IBF-WBC unification bout between 122-pounders Steve Molitor of Mississauga and Celestino Cabellero of Panama.

I read recently that Sosnowski is gonna take a short vacation. He said that to bokser.org and that he is gonna take some time off and go back to the gym soon enough and hopfully try to land a shot for the EBU title.

I think he is interested in the EBU, might go back to Friday night fights too he says he also has interests in possibly fighting a bout with Haye kinda like introducing him in the hevyweigh division. That Haye part is just a bit over the top tho, this fight wont be made. Everyone wants to fight Haye rofl.

He beat number 8 ranked EBU in Williams and he has interests in fighting for the EBU possibly, if so the winner between Sprott and Vidoz.

Sosnowskis sparring partner as far as i know are Lamon Brewster.

I kinda wrote Sosnowski off the map ever scince he lost to Lawrence. It was kinda embarassing to say the least but his win vs Wlliams looked good. I never expected him to do that. If it were to me i would of picked Williams by points.

This is by far his biggest win of his career.

Williams is a guy who has beaten Sprott, Tyson, Harrison, Skelton, etc. and was working his way up to a title fight.

Ive been following Sosnowski a bit throughout his career. I still remember his loss to Cook.....which really derailed his career significantly. Glad to see he is doing well tho.

heres a interview i tranlsated for you

How do youthink about your victory?

I told you yesterday. I came here to win and I was able to. I am very tired, very proud and happy. I just beat a very good heavyweight. Danny is a very good boxer.

Did you think you would win? Nobody gave you a chance...

Thats true. I didnt put pressure on myself(like vs Lawrence) and i needed to win. I went to the ring to box, to fight and to give it all to myself.

Was Danny pretty bad or were you just that good?

I am very good, with certain. If i box with good fighters, I present to do a better job.

Seems you have ruined Danny Williams future plans(Danny was favorite to win vs Sosnowski and later fight Botha)

Thats nto my buisness. I am very happy and I think Danny will return to the ring once again.

I am very happy. Before the fight I was not able to imagine anything like this. But I managed to.

    What now with your career?
Now I want to rest. Then we'll see, we will wait for an opportunity.

Wish him the best. He can get a good shot and take advantage of it, his career might finally begin to really take off if he keeps progressing well.

Reading some **** from Adameks blog.

Even with Gmitruk gone he is training like theres no tommorow (Gmitruk gone? anybody know more on this, or did he just leave temporarily?) He is saying he has been training very hard for this fight, and sometimes gets sick of it, as he has been in training since August. But he picked up a lot of experience against lots of known sparring partners here in the U.S. He has boxed over 60 rounds so far, saying that is saying something about the shape he is in.

He has not lost any speed, and any footwork, and his sparring partners are complaining about a pretty strong punches, showing that the strength training that he has been working on have paid off. He called the rumors of Adamek - Golota a media spectacle, so hopefully he means that its just bs.

Good news hear. Glad to see he hasnt lost any speed, which every little bit of will count in this fight.

Thats wierd. All normal with my account. When I had my old screename the password just stopped working.. and I couldnt sign in then either. I couldnt get it right again so I just said **** it and made up a new screename, instead of jumping through hoops to get the other one going again, it was as if someone changed my password.
