http://www.phillyboxinghistory.com/fight_stories/stories/2010/20100204_dawejko_philly_debut_01.htm Dawjeko is at 3-0 and is a Philly fighter with a good amateur background but yeah he's def short in stature, not sure his weight offhand or if he could/would go CW. i havent seen him fight in person yet but expect to in the next few mths.
Proksa supposed to be fighting sometime in May again. In an interview he was talking about getting a solid team together, and that for his last bout he only prepared for one month with a trainer (or actually a cutman). So for his last fight he pretty much trained on his own. how the **** is nobody interested in this guy? Somebody is ****ing up.
Kielsa was born in Bialystok, resides in Canada. He's not Canadian, unless you mean has a Canadian passport. As for Joey, who knows, his nick is "Polish Thunder" so he at least identifies himself as Polish, even if he wasnt born there his parents are probably Polish. There are talks about Wach fighting for the EBU that Sosnowski vacated. Wach sucks, though. Hes just big.
Well speaking of Kownacki just a few days ago and him not fighting often, he just stopped in the 2nd round some guy 2-3 (1KO) after half a year layoff. Hopefully he'll get moving a bit. Heres some amateur fotage of Zimnoch, don't know how long ago this was. Theres another one on there I didnt watch yet. Anybody know how tall he is? He's getting back with Laszlo Veras which i think is a great move as he was his original trainer and communicated great with Proksa while keeping him under control from getting to wild(something he has been doing since he left Laszlo!)
I hope so, because we are seeing one of Polands biggest talents get put to waste in front of our very own eyes. This guy has the talent, you can see it in the ring, he in natural. But he needs polishing, and so far it has not been done, and its frustrating as ****.
sorry to say but im not holding my breath for Proksa, it seems like hes satisfied with his little glory and will not make vital sacrifices to further his career dont get me wrong i agree that with the right management and trainers Grzes could hold one of the main titles, he has the mental strength and confidence and hes still a pup hopefully im wrong
Yea hard to say, relatively he has had a lot of rough spots throughout his career so far. More should be clear within the next year. I just can't believe that him fighting at the level he is fighting even now, has been doing so lately without some sort of team. I don't know the details but he needs to get serious if he is serious about his career. Read an interview like a week ago with Arreolas trainer who said that Arreola is currently 255, but will be weighing in at about 242-243 for the fight. So basically a month out he was 255.
Well the fight is almost 1 week out. The recent tele-conference Arreola spent some time talking ****, while Adamek replied with his usual, you can say all you want, my fists will do the talking in the ring. Love it. Arreola says he will weigh in no more then 240lbs. When asked what his diet is, he would not say. Wonder what he will weigh in at, I have a feeling it will be low for him, with all the noise Arreola camp is making about him comming in "light".
Yeah I dont get it... Are the top Polish trainers not interested in his potential? Or do they not see any potential and that's why no one is interested... Personally i think that if Proksa does not get some serious team behind him this year I don't think he will achieve anything higher then what he has already achieved.. He needs some serious trainer , he continues to make some serious mistakes that won't let him compete on high levels... It's ridiculous that trainers complain that there is a lack of great boxers in Poland yet they sit around and don't do anything while a talented boxer is wasting his opportunities... i don't get it...
He's got his old team back.. will see what they can do... I personally don't like that move.. He needs someone better... but i guess better that then working out on your own..
so what do you guys think of the 22 year old Andrzej Fonfara? He just earned himself the WBC Youth World light heavyweight title. I got a mixed feeling about him..
I haven't seen him, but the one thing that I'm satisfied of is... we have got 3 youth WBC champs ! Fonfara LHW Masternak CW interim.. Wawrzyk HW
