The post-fight delusion is overwhelming, time for some sense

    Let me just address a few points,

    1/ Having a fighter knocked out does not make you a bad trainer. Just about every trainer from Eddie Futch to Freddie Roach himself has had fighters destroyed early. Whatever the "gameplan" was, we really didn't get to see it unfold, did we? All we know is that Floyd Snr's expertise was not substantial enough to make up for Hattons technical and physical deficiences against a more skilled, quicker, and probably more powerful fighter.

    If you're going to blame Floyd Snr specifically, then ask yourself which trainer would Hatton have performed better with - To me, personally, it looked like a case of Hatton not sticking to the gameplan. Where was the jab and the lateral movemen? Gung-ho aggression was not what Floyd Snr was supposed to bring to the table. Whatever the case, Floyd Snr should shoulder some of the blame, as much as any trainer should when his fighter is crushed within a few rounds. But let me reiterate that this doesn't make him a bad trainer, if you think it does, you're a hypocritical idiot.

    2/ I think it's pretty clear that Hatton's method of fighting played right into Pacquiao's pinpoint counterpunching style. Getting nice and tight on the inside was a good idea in theory, but getting there and staying there are two things Pacquiao is very good at not-allowing. We all saw De La Hoya picked to pieces trying to cut the range on Manny. There wasn't enough head-movement and measure on Hatton's part.

    It's clearly Manny's preferred fight, rather than competing with fighters who actually can box - Marquez, Barrerra, etc.

    Do you think he's going to hit someone like Mayweather with that looping counter left hook while he's lunging forward?

    Do you think Mayweather is going to senselessly barge his way through Pacquiaos offense to get inside?

    Negative and negative. Hattons decimation is no indication of the way Pacquiao-Mayweather will play out, anyone who makes that comparison, once again, knows nothing about boxing.

    Floyd Mayweather Jnr will stop Pacquiao late on. Provided he's at least half the fighter he was two years ago.

    3/ Those having a go at Hatton, now, are sick. The man got in the ring with one of the best fighters in the World and was slaughtered infront of his family. Whether you like or hate Hatton he's an honest professional, and some of the remarks on this forum are just out of order. If you're such big Manny fans then take a page out of his book, I'm sure he'd be ashamed of your attitudes.

    Thanks for restoring some order to ESB. Some people think that Pac will run through PBF like he did Hatton. They fail to understand the importance of defense and counter-punching and the fact that PBF is a stylistic nightmare for him. This will be made apparent for them when the two meet.

    I'm drunk and lit. I hope in this state I haven't gone overboard.

    I wish Hatton luck and a fast recovery with his health.

    At the same time, I'm surprised by just how bad Manny made him look tonight.

    Pac has destroyed all come-forward fighters and struggled with a technician in JMM. Floyd obviously is an even better technical/naturally gifted fighter so it's a totally different scenario.

    Pacquiao gives Mayweather ****ing nightmares.

    Mayweather=master of defense

    if Mayweather were inversed, we would have have

    Pacquiao=Master of offense

    PBF would be going ****ing crazy with Pacquiao. Insanely accurate and fluid and with equally blinding handspeed

    Likewise, Pacquiao would be going crazy trying to fight PBF

    Their styles are the antithesis of each other

    It is a 50-50 fight. And I mean, literally, a 50-50 fight. They are completely evenly matched, each mans area of expertise complements the other. If you were to design a fighter at 140 to beat PBF, it would be Pacquiao. Likewise, if you were to design a fighter beat Pacquiao, it would be PBF.

    THIS FIGHT MUST HAPPEN!

    That was a great and detailed analysis. It was a wee bit long, so I only read half of it, but I think I get the general tenure. I am almost certainly wrong in this...you typed the words for a reason.

    Question for you: If your boxer is getting smashed to bits in the first round, is it better or worse for him if you, as his trainer, are in his corner?

    On #3, get a grip, dude. I've never heard or read any Pac fan dissing Hatton for that sorry loss in this forum. They are actually magnanimous in victory because they respect Hatton as a true gentleman. Besides, they are drunk celebrating Manny's victory.

    Or, would you care to post some links.....

    Sorry,I just read my last post, and if I were noy so drunk. I would surf over the interweb and slap myself for being so rude. It wasn't meant that way, at all.

    Manny would have won tonight, no matter. (I made some Eurocash myself). But FMSnr needs to be called out on this one. What was his masterplan?
