Post-Prison Tyson loses to David Tua. He didn't have the heart of a warrior anymore by that point. I think he'd get discouraged by Tua's constant attack and fierce left hooks. I think Tua knocks him out. But then again, anything can happen when you've got two strong heavyweights who come forward.

Tyson - too much skill and he can actually box from the outside for once

if tyson was driven enough and knew he couldn't just slug it out then it might of been a good fight. mike was a good counter puncher tua wasn't. but tua was a fantastic inside fighter and i don't think tyson is going to box on his feet at all. so maybe tua comes in with his low workrate tyson lands the jab then the cross then clinches or tua stays on him all night and keeps throwing.

tua was a bit poor when he was against somone with some head movement aswell.

tua outside of left hook power only had chin to his name, he was pretty poor stamina wise, had a VERY low workrate, very flat footed and only used a cross arm block for defence.

    good fight though

Tyson would have his hands full with Tua post prison.

David Tua had a prime? when exactly was that?

Right before getting outmaneuvered and outboxed by Hasim Rahman, or before he got the taste slapped out his mouth by Chris Byrd?

The mythical David Tua that never was, in his best outing he LOST to another unproven fighter in Ibeabuchi, he struggled with Izon and he beat a very green John Ruiz who thought he was the heavyweights version of Oscar De La Hoya, till he got that wake up call and turned into the puerto rican octopus masquerading as an all american boxer.

-Probably the greatest post in the history of classic regarding David Tua.

-And yes, the Tyson who was all over Mathis should have enough in the tank for the Tuaman.

    Tua is so, so over-rated.

Tua was a slugger, more one dimensional than say Tyson, but he did pretty good for what he had. He was shorter and more limited. His game was pressure and power, and he caught up to many guys who should have been able to box circles around him all night. Technical boxing wasnt his game, and once his fitness and focus started to wane, his biggest attributes were no longer effective. Yes Tua had a prime, he peaked at the Ike fight, but once he secured a ranking, he sank like a lead weight.

Tua would try to bum rush Tyson kind of like McNeeley. Except Tyson is too dangerous with his counters and Tua is terrible when trying to finish a live opponent on the ropes. See him getting knocked down by Rahman with a vicious left counter and almost getting knocked out by Barrett. I'd say Tyson by stoppage. Would be a hell of a fight.

I laugh that people are questioning Tyson's heart here. Tua is the one who fought like a scared ***** against Lewis. Tyson's performance against Lewis was far more honorable, even though he was washed up as hell and got his ass kicked and KO'd.... he still tried harder then Tua did. And Tua was in his prime and outta shape, which made the performance all the more disgraceful.

I'd say that Tyson had more heart then Tua, and in a slugfest... Tua is more likely to go into ***** mode after feeling Mike's power.

Why didn't they fight? I remember Lou Duva repeatedly calling out Mike Tyson for a Tua fight in the mid to late 90s. Did Tyson duck David? Looks to me like he fought easy fighters after prison. (McNeely, Seldon, Bruno again, etc) Tyson also thought Holyfield was gonna be a pushover as well. Seems like Tyson wanted no part of Lennox Lewis or David Tua at the time, primarily because they were the biggest threats to him.

Tyson definitely stops him, would be an excellent slugfest though. The Tyson that beat the **** out of Bruno, rudduck, andathis would surely slaughter Tua.
