If Floyd beat Cotto, Mosley, Williams, Berto, Clottey, the other champions in HIS division - will give him big credit, and the credit he deserves.

He doesn't deserve much for fighting a guy who's only just stepped up to 135 from super-featherweight, he guy Floyd said himself is too small. He say's he's a 147, so why not fight 147's?

Baldo and Judah were champs in his division. Oscar was a champ in a division below him. Gatti was also a champ in his division when they fought.

Difference is Mosley, Cotto, Williams etc are if not primed - because I certainly don't think Mosley - close enough to their bests and legimate champions.

Baldomir was a limited fighter who had nothing to worry Mayweather. I know people picked him because of the size difference they thought they saw, but Baldomir didn't have the power nor skill to stop Mayweather and he certainly wasn't going to outpoint him.

Gatti was finished. This was the same guy who had that life-and-death trilogy with Mickey Ward some 3 years earlier. De La Hoya clearly wasn't at his best either. Judah already lost to Baldomir.

Now I'm not trying to hate on his resume, I understand I'm picking holes in it but for good reason. I'm not a Floyd hater, not by a long shot, I'm just disappointed not only in this match-up but in many throughout his career.

When he wins against a legit opponent I'll give him his dues. I thought Diego Corrales for example was an excellent win, Jose Luis Castillo was a very good win. Genaro Hernandez aswell. And like I said I'll give him huge credit should he beat any of Mosley, Cotto or Williams. But he doesn't seem to want to take on challenges and fight guys in his own weight class and prove himself.

The point I'm making is that you claim you want him to beat champions at his weight class, but he's beaten 4 champs in or above his weight class all within the last few years. Mayweather could go out and beat Mosley and people will say Mosley was old. He can go and beat Berto and people will say Berto was never that good and lost to Collazo. Be could beat Cotto and people could say Margo ruined Cotto. Anyone can discredit a fighter after the fact. Everyone was clamoring for him to fight Hatton, Hoya, Judah, and Baldo before he fought them. Go back to when those fights happened and those guys were all the guys that people claimed Mayweather had to fight.

The same as it is now with Mosley, Cotto, Berto, and Williams. If people want to discredit a fighter's win, they will do so regardless of the situation. Many people on here are blasting Mayweather for fighting Marquez, but many analyst, writers, are saying that this is a difficult fight for Mayweather considering his layoff. You can't satisty everyone. When you really look at it objectively, Mayweather has fought a pretty good string of fights over the last few years.

Williams won't fight that light again i'm sure of it. especially after going up that much weight and still being thin. i honestly highly doubt he can perform getting that low after going up

man that is dumb marquez is a harder fight then berto. mosley quote me on this ''if cotto beat mosley by boxing then floyd does'' cotto maybe in 2-3 years time when floyd slowed down as of now hell no..williams at 154 would be the only 50/50 fight..so what hes doing is fighting the 2 best pound for pound fighters in the world and getting discredited for it great...

It all comes down to personalities. If Floyd wouldn't acted like a dick for most of his career, more people would have held him in higher regard
