I think it makes sense if you are asking "Weight aside, who is the best fighter in the world?", as the P4P thing was originally intended.

The way it is now when people are debating who is the 8th/ 9th best fighter in the world gets a bit OTT for me.

IIRC When Floyd "retired" Joe got bumped upto no.2 behing Manny but was then pushed down to 3 when Marquez KO'd Casa.

 

i think it's mainly because the sanctioning bodies have lost so much creedence in the sport.there ten a penny nowadays.so the world champion tag has diminished and this p4p argument has been pushed to the fore.

P4P is a good idea, but certain people rip the bollocks out of it... its an opinion. Fact is Hatton could have beaten Manny but he still wouldn't have been p4p number one beause there are fighters technically better then him.

P4P is pretty much bull****, I hate when it's referred to as something you can"win" from another fighter...
