*DISCLAIMER* I am **** at maths - Like, borderline ******ed so feel free to point that out if any glaring mistakes appear!!!! I'm TRYING to do a Pac/Floyd thread based on fact - Not ridiculous statements or nut riding.

I know this is a select period of time, maybe I should have gone back to their history from 2000 onwards - But I chose to take it from their last fight because i want to make a case for my fighter.

    Mayweather Vs Mosley = 1,400,000
    -------------
    1.4mil

    Pac V Margarito = 1,150,000
    --------------
    1.15mil.

As you can see Mayweather had 22% higher sales than Pacquiao.
Rest doesn't matter that's not what this thread is about.
    Stay on topic.

Try and prove 1.4mil is not more than 1.15mil.

Margo was a 4-1 underdog. And the numbers aren't even fully tallied yet.

May - Mosley was a highly anticipated matchup for a long time. It's not a good comparison.

Either way Pac's numbers are impressive and the fight should be 50/50. FLoyd doesn't even want to fight right now so what's the point anyway.

The right comparable number is against Floyd's number with a non-American. Comparing the famous Mosley,a fighter twice being ODLH's dance partner is like comparing apples from oranges.

Though Marquez is a PPV veteran even before the Floyd fight than Margo, not a disowned mexican as well, an active fighter unlike Margo coming off from years of suspension.

    But still Marquez would do.

    1.0M > 1.15M+. Oops?

Add to the fact that in terms of graph and momentum, Pac's stock and line direction is heading up. He almost doubled his last PPV, who knows how far from 1.15M can he single handedly carry his next non-FMJ opponent fight.

mosley was a B-side attraction. Margarito was not. although mosley dosent pull numbers, alone, when he s matched with a big star- together they pull. i dont think margarito has ever pulled big numbers.

in the US there s no doubt that floyds a bigger star- but when you tabulate international ppv- i think its much closer. for example, Hatton pulled 1.4 million in the UK alone for his fight with money. Its true though, pacs a bigger international star- but in markets that arent economically big- like south east asia. in Australia though, pac pulls much bigger audiences than floyd.

whatever the point is- these guys- wont fight for anything less than 50/50. we all know that- so arguing for anything else is just encouraging these guys to hold out- and impeding the fight.

    Yes, Pacquiao's 7 (700k vs clottey ) is less than Mayweather's 10 (1.0mil vs Marquez)

    1.4 million > 1.15 million.

Floyd is still the current PPV king. Not bad for Pac though, considering he's a foreigner and his total includes ZERO PPV buys from 90 million *******s from the Philippines since all fights are shown there on regular television.

Thats like saying 8 division Champion. You can't aruge how or why or if * division champion. Numbers don't lie. Mosley has a decent US following and was coming of a career saving win. Opponent matters more for Floyd.

Oscar Floyd - over 2 million , other fights 700k Floyd's numbers very dependant on who he is fighting.

objectively and it's not hard to see, floyd does have bigger numbers not only as a whole but also for the past few fights on average. we can discuss reasons or circumstances behind each fight justifying why those figures came out that way, why pac only made so much against common opponents, the alleged fake rib injury they did to pull more numbers for floyd-jmm, etc, but at the end of the day floyd generated the bigger numbers. he was at the right place and time and him and his camp did what they had to do to pull up those numbers and they were succesful.

i give credit to pac as he puts up great ppv numbers for a non-american and you floyd fans have to give him that. give him credit for pulling those numbers inspite of the circumstances behind these fights. dela hoya-pac did really good numbers inspite of being dubbed as a joke fight as compared to dela hoya-floyd's "fight that would save boxing". pac did well against a relatively unknown clottey. he did well against margo, cotto and hatton.

looking at the numbers, except for the dela hoya fight, the numbers aren't really far from each other. but floyd evidently still has the edge in ppv numbers on average.

You would expect 2 american fighters to get higher american PPV sales than 2 non americans.

except he pushed nearly a mil with hatton
over a mil against jmm (and this was supposed to be a "tune up" fight haha)
and about 1.4 mil against shane (who doesn't pull large numbers in)
you sure it's not the other way around? you have a case of argument with floyd/dlh...but ya

Plus the fact the Pac's fights were shown at the Philippines for FREE.
