biggs has no power.

 

I wouldn't exactly say that he had no power. He did rock Riddick Bowe pretty good, and Bowe is known for having a terrific chin. But yes, he was no one punch knockout artist. Decent power though if he landed flush.

 

Only thing he'd clean up is a line of dama blanca on some plate in a Las Vegas bathroom.

 

He may be able to outbox some fat plodder like Arreola

 

Now many of you know me as being very biased towards heavyweights of the past, so take this for what you will, but I tend to agree with dinnynosher on this one guys. I don't think he beats the Klitschko brothers, but I think he beats most guys in the top 10 and probably challenges for the title on more than one occasion. Also, this may seem crazy, and probably is, but I could also see him giving Vitali a few problems. NO, I don't think he beats Vitali, but I do think he would put up a good fight. Biggs had a terrific jab, good boxing skills, fast hands, and underrated power (no, he was no one punch knockout artist, but he did have a decent punch if he landed flush-ala the Riddick Bowe fight). Look at him giving a young Riddick Bowe all sorts of trouble with that jab (watch the whole fight btw to get a better idea of how good Biggs could look at times, plus it is just a really entertaining scrap):

He even rocked Riddick Bowe at one point.

 

He would definitely be top 5 these days. He had size, speed, and skill with an excellent jab. I'll always remember Tyson telling Merchant "He was crying in there, making woman gestures" after they fought. That was some funny ****. Though Biggs did look good in the first round against Tyson, but Mike just chopped him down.

 

Just about any of the top contenders from 80's / 90's would clean up todays fighters. The HW division today is terrible.

 

A stupid assumption, excluding notable greats the rest would likely form the long cue battered by the brothers.

 

Biggs was the most physically gifted fighter of his generation.
Blessed with footwork that more closely resembled a centaur than a boxer, Biggs could dazzle the spectators without ever throwing a punch. He once had a crowd of thousands in hysterics merely by switching to southpaw, and then back again.

 

Looking at who is around today, I honestly don't see why he wouldn't be one of the top fighters of today when in his prime. He had skills, there is no doubting that.
