I wouldn't be surprised about the hands. That joker could lay some leather on you. I was never a fan when he was around but I appreciate him in retrospect. I still think he could be a genuine jackass but I have to give him credit. Entertaining, quick, powerful, etc.

Because he was shaken to the core and his pride and self belief were shattered after being thoroughly outclassed and embarrassed in every department.

Hamed should thank Ingle he got as far as he did. I used to try the Ingle style in sparring and it is without the out the most fun way to fight in a boxing ring.

 

The Prince was one of a kind, and embodied everything about a fighter that the sport of boxing needs. All we have at the moment (character wise) is a Floyd Mayweather, who still doesn't come anywhere near to Naz in terms of excitement and hype.

In regards to his career and boxing ability, it will always be difficult to judge him in complete. Simply because he never finished his career, he left so many pages blank. He did whatever he could with the opponents available at the time, and he just reached that point in his career (Barrera) where he would define how good he really is. Ok he lost, no shame in that. BUT, he was supposed to bounce back from that, and go on to bigger things. Unfortunately he didn't. So we'll never know how much he could have improved, and how great he could have been (similar to a Mike Tyson) had he not allowed himself to be distracted.

Finally about his superstar status. Either you knew little or about him, or you're a complete moron if you think he wasn't a box office attraction in the US or UK. He was a massive star of the sport. Absolutely everyone knew him in the Arab world, he was the UK's number one sportstar at one point (with Calzaghe defending his titles on his undercard), and as for the Americans, they too loved him the during the brief stint he had at the US market. HBO loved him and snapped him up. Even Floyd Mayweather wanted a piece of his pie. The guy was a ****ing cash machine. Friends with celebrities like Michael Jackson, Tom Jones, Will Smith. What kind of no name has Puff Daddy waiting at the bottom for him to come down in his flying carpet to accompany him to the ring.

I watched Hamed dominate throughout his career. He was an entertaining fighter who always looked for the knockout. Whether people loved him or hated him, all the boxing fans I know tuned in to watch his fights. I just wish he would have continued his career after the Barrera loss.
He was WBO, WBC, IBO, and IBF Featherweight champ at different times of his career. Hamed = Featherweight All Time Great.
