Says Mr. shoulda been #4 on the cons list - idiot haters who present their speculations without an ounce of proof and try to pass it as fact.
his lack of competition just pisses me off. 1st margarito, now shane. come on bobby, u can do better than that
can anyone name a better fighter at welterweight than shane mosley that Pac should fight? I just want them to name one.
lmao liek everyone saying he should fight berto... he wouldve ruined the guy for life based on what ortiz did.
And how is Mosley, Cotto, Hatton etc any worse than those unproven youngsters you mention? If Pacs last 7 opponents were the ones you mentioned then he could be accused of ducking/cherry picking.
Pac fought Clottey and Margarito because he could not get a fight with Floyd. He is fighting Mosley for the same reason! Yes he can do better but he needs a willing opponent in the ring. Unfortunately for Pac, the best fighter wants only to fight him with his big ****ing mouth!
no fans are more guilty of this than the floyd mayweather jr fans. floyd has come out in youtube saying he's greater than SRR and his fans took this hook line and sinker.
Okay, let us apply that criteria to Fraud Gayweather. THE PROS, THERE IS NONE He does not fights! While almost all his choice of opponents has come under severe public criticism, you can also count on Gayweather to duck a couple of times per year or fight a tune-up repitively. Aside from the fighter's resume, perhaps just as crucial as the quality of competition is the fact that a fighter is actually on vacation when it is convenient like when the scene is too hot. Love or hate his current opposition but your opinion don't count because it does not pay the bills, Gayweather is not giving the fans a credible fight, and with his bouts being previewed on national television despite lousy opposition, he still continues to bring much money which is what is important to him and his fans. When he fights, he does not fight! You'd be hard-pressed to find a Gayweather fight that was action-packed. Despite the lackluster degree of challenges in most of his bouts, the fight itself is anything but action-packed or exciting. Always in shape and ready to go and never underestimating his opponents, from the opening to final bell, Gayweather fights safety-first every round and is afraid of mixing it up, despite being booed by the audience. A definite fanatic-friendly only approach. As a human being, Gayweather is never top-notch, an arse-hole. Growing up in pretending to be ghetto-borne, Gayweather has pseudo-gangster mentality. His parent sell crack and coke. THE CONS His competition. Shane Mosley, who at one point was "too good of a fighter" at 140, has suddenly become an acceptable opponent at 147. Go figure. In fact, none of his last ten opponents were coming off significant wins or anywhere near a high point in their respective careers. It seems that Team Gayweather is building a legacy off the names of fading superstars and smaller fighters rather than taking on top fighters in their prime like Cotto, Margarito or Williams instead of suddenly retiring. I'd just like to see a fight without controversial catchweights like asking JMM to go up 2 divisions and be cheated on the scale when Gayweather can not make 144, lackluster opponents, or fighters recovering from a devastating loss like Zab Judah. His fans. Not to be confused with boxing fans that appreciate his style, this is addressed to the delusional bandwagoners that have already anointed The Gayweather as "The Greatest Fighter of All Time" without actually knowing anything about some of the true greatest fighters of all time. When Gayweather stated he is greater than SRR, everybody defended him like their life is at stake. It's never happened to all the greats of our era. Roy Jones Jr, tito Trinidad, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard and Pacquiao never stated they were the greatest. His fans all overblown their hero's accomplishments to even include Gatti as soemone who is ATG and given more credit than is actually due. It's unfortunate that fans can actually work against the likability of a good fighter, but when you've been following the sport for the sake of the sport and suddenly hear someone raving about a fighter being better than Muhammad Ali or Sugar Ray Robinson when they've never actually seen an Ali or Robinson fight, it just gets annoying. As a boxer, Gayweather's resume is disappointing. Not to say he hasn't done anything in the ring, but rather, he could have done way more instead of retiring at the time when other welterweights were at their primes. Everybody can really knock his welterweight career, and his recent choice of opponents have cast a shadow on his former accomplishments. For once, I just wish Gayweather would take a firm stand on who he would like to face in the ring rather than let twitter be his battleground or boxing ring. With the fame and attention he's received, he could have created his own legacy to be remembered by. He says he is his own boss, and broke the ironclad grip that promoters and networks hold over the sport, but unfortunately, he is still under the shadow of GBP. It was all facade, just ike his drug testing and cleaning up the sport. Nice read actually once it was corrected.
I'll focus on the 'Cons'...as I don't believe anyone can disagree with the 'Pros' and be serious. I have been disappointed in his very recent opposition. Clottey was a good bout, just for the fact that it was a decent replacement for the Mayweather bout falling through the first time. Margarito was not a good bout (whether it was entertaining or not)...throw all the weight difference, height, reach difference figures at me all you want, Margarito was chosen because at that point he was made for Pacquiao...he was chosen to gain a title at Light Middleweight. Yet his team just months before ruled out fighting at Light Middleweight against Foreman because they thought he was too big (A Pacquiao 'con' is he needs to take control of his career). Mosley is not a good bout. Mosley is deserving of a shot at the P4P #1 as much as Margarito was... As annoying as SOME of his fans can be, this is not a con on Pacquiao himself. He cannot control the 12 year old kids posting on forums and the internet. I don't see how a resume can start to disappoint? Pacquiao has definitely added to his legacy since his move to Welter and "Light Middle"...not in terms of top, top quality opposition (his lighter days opposition is undoubtedly stronger than his recent opposition)...but in terms of titles, his move through the divisions in dominant fashion, etc.
