YES! The temple shot - the one that messes up your equilibrium for ten seconds. A right hook to the temple has had me on ***** street in sparring at least 3 times.
there is a shot that lands the most that pisses me off, and a shot that hurts the most. The most landed is a quick lead left hook to the head, I rarely see it because the eye on that side is very damaged, especially in peripheral vision. The most hurtful punch is always a straight power shot to the nose, which on me is large and bleeds profusely. With a face plate on in sparring I become much much much more dangerous because no body punches have the effect of stopping my swarming onslaught like the stupid nose shots. I do not get rocked, my nose is just delicate and painful and breaks easily.
I took a hard hook to the ear while sparring this morning. Those are definitely the opposite of fun. Took me a good five minutes before the ringing stopped completely.
A hard straight right down the pipe that follows a jab. I get hit with it everytime, even if I move my head or my hands are in the way. For some reason it just hits me no matter what. Usually in the nose/mouth area and it always hurts like a S.O.B.
A guy i used to spar a lot used to step in and faint to the body then bang in an uppercut to the face when i dropped forward to cover up. always ****ing hated that and it took a long time to stop him catching me with it. i'd see him setting me up but could never seem to do anything about it, not until after numerous smashed noses and black eyes anyway. even when i did avoid it he would catch me with the left hook or the right hand. ****. In the end this was only resolved by upping my conditioning more than his and staying on him from start to finish. he could never quite catch me flush after that, and we've only sparred a handfull of times since.
