I remember on another forum this guy took the Ali vs Chamberlain negotiations soooo seriously. He went on 30 page rants convinced he would have beaten Ali and used all kinds of insults (and horrible arguments) to state his case.

I assume it summed up to "Chamberlain was tall and basketball players are athletic" or some dumb **** like that

Good work. Compubox is often inaccurate. I've seen them hit the button when punches clearly miss.

This is one of the best examples of Marciano's stamina. Furthermore, while it wasn't exactly artistic, you can see him thinking in there, moving the head, considering new angles. He wasn't a dummy. It's also great seeing Moore throwing that counter right during the onslaught. Game but overpowered.

    Even worse!

He used an on the court fight where he punched the heck out of a player on the opposing team and extrapolated from that. Then there was the incident where he apparently dislocated a guy's shoulder when he blocked his shot.

His last 3 pieces of evidence were (try not to laugh)

-cus d amato wanted to train him for the fight. Since a man as knowledgeable in boxing like cus thought he could train a guy with zero amateur or professional experience to beat Ali, then clearly we should assume Chamberlain could have beaten Ali. Could becomes "would" and would becomes "fact".

-he posted a clip where Ali supposedly seemed nervous and tried very very hard to convince everyone chamberlain signed his portion of the contract and Ali refused (had something to do with his father advising him not to), therefore Ali ducked. Therefore, Ali didnt think he could win.

-he used, and i kid you not, too tall Jones' attempt at boxing and Shaquile O'neal vs Shane Mosley as evidence a highly talented athlete could pick up a new sport and do well. Insisted that hardcore boxing fans were delusional and that boxing was very simple to understand and master.

That thread made for some quality entertainment the nights I couldn't fall asleep!

Kareem Abdul jabber might well be marked as better due to plating so extremely long & well.
Bill Russell was not nearly as good as either, but played on better teams so won 11 chamionships.
But per year-using advanced stats to rate how much a player adds in value, win share, efficiency...
    Wilt was better.
And if he either did not need to moderate his offensive efforts for the team system, or played longer, he would have accomplished even more.

I wonder about that too now that you mention it!
But did you know the record was exceeded a while back for punches thrown, AND landed?
It easily beat Ike vs. Tua-but only edged out Tua vs. Izon for most punches landed.

Willing? Is it not that in many cases a man cannot avoid said blows?
The guy may or may not be firing back in a similar way.
If it is punches thrown not landed, you need no consent. Only a good amount of illegal clinching will stop you, unless the opponent knocks you out.?

Perhaps you just find the phrase "huge deal" to be inelegant.

I have read the post over several times now, and can't find anything else wrong with it.
