What the thread starter said in the first post is irrelevant, as is your own comment.

This is why I brought up Ward Round 2 in the first fight and Joshua Round 6 in the Wlad fight.

What precedes a stoppage doesn't matter when the stoppage occurs based upon a foul. It's a bad stoppage, no matter what.

Joshua was totally exhausted and hurt in Round 6. He looked absolutely done after taking the right hand from Wlad.

And, of course, we know what happened.

Kovalev got jobbed by Meeks. Trying to cover it up by focusing on a punch that didn't even drop Kovalev is not an argument I can take seriously.

It's a shame the fight ended in controversy, but it did. Not because I said so, but because the last blow(s) were illegal. That's on Ward and Meeks.

Kovalev fans are sad that their boy was gassed and done, running around the ring getting ripped by huge body shots, breathing like a dog through his mouth. That's what history will always show about this fight when it is watched by folks decades from now.

There was no foul so your post is irrelevant there was no warnings as they were on the belt line with only 1 of the punches maybe below the belt line. These are the facts, the haters not liking it means nothing despite how many time they wanna repeat the same ****.

What about the argument that Kovalev was getting lit up while breathing like a dog that entire round? He looked like a fighter about to be saved by the ref any moment.

There was an actual foul, whether the NSAC admits it or not.

That is the fact. The tape is clear on the matter.

This is why boxing is considered corrupt and why fighters -- like Ward -- angle to fight most of their fights in their home state, home country, etc. These things matter.

It's a shame, it's a "bad night" for the sport. But the sport has always had this issue, and likely always will.

What I take from the two fights combined is that Kovalev:

    =======> out-threw Ward
    =======> out-landed Ward
=======> out-landed Ward in power shots

...and was behind on the official cards. That says a lot to me.

The fight is over, and we move on. But nothing changes what happened in the fight, regardless of what you think or write, or what anyone else thinks or writes. Everyone saw what happened. I know I did.

Hopefully the next big fight is judged and reffed better. That's all we can hope as fight fans.

    Here's what I saw:

That punch hurt him and Kov looked bad. He also didn't even protest the stoppage. Most of Ward's "low blows" were just a tad low, and, in my opinion, none hit Kov's balls except possibly the last one.

I still thought the stoppage was bad. I've seen fighters look worse or the same and then finish fights.

Kov should have protested that much more if he could have continued. And if it was a nut shot that ended it, he should have been irate. But he wasn't. He looked like thought he lost but then said low blows in the interview half-heartedly.

I'm commenting on what I saw. I still thought Weeks ended the fight prematurely.

No two fights are alike and no two fighters react alike. Kovalev was done. That is why he did not protest. He waited until the fight was over and started yelping like a puppy. If he had of protested, Weeks might have backed up let Ward back at that ass. He knew that. Smart man.

You mean he looked like Joshua in Round 6 against Wlad, only Joshua got knocked down and Kovalev didn't?

Or you mean he looked broken down like Ward in Round 2 of the first fight?

What happens before a fight is stopped on an illegal blow doesn't change the fact that the fight was stopped on an illegal blow.

All we know is that there is no certainty about what happens in the rest of the fight if Meeks does not halt the bout following an illegal blow.

Ward blew it by throwing the low blow, Meeks blew it by not calling the low blow and stopping the fight following the low blow, and the NSAC blew it by not acknowledging the low blow ended the bout.

This is boxing. We expect this type of poor judgment and controversy. It's a sad part of the sport.

Your wrong and im not gonna argue about our diff. opinions just corrected you,you don't no the difference between opinions and facts obv. just cause you and sum others think he threw sum low blows. Facts are he was never warned for anything as I previously said and imo only 1 of the punches at the end was just below the belt line and Kovalev was well and truly done

    You say he was done.

And I say Joshua was done in Round 6, and Ward was done in Round 2.

The illegal blow finished off Kovalev. That's not an acceptable end to a fight, no matter what you think happened before the illegal blow landed.

There is no argument here. The fight was wrongly stopped by the referee after an illegal shot caused Kovalev to bend over in pain. There is nothing else to discuss.

You're wrong and you have very little to offer me in the way of a debate on this subject. It's kind of like if Ward took on Joshua, and you're Ward.

I'm not surprised, given that you have chosen to take an indefensible position.

    And so we move on.

This is how I know you're just an emotionally wrecked, sad fanboy.

Kovalev in round 8 of part 2 was not remotely comparable to Ward in round 2 of part 1. Not in the same ballpark. Not close to being in the same ballpark.

I'm not a fanboy. I've given my perspective on the fight, both analytical (stats) and observational. I praised Ward, I feel bad for Kovalev.

Here's the upshot of what I'm saying -- don't spit on me and tell me it's raining.

The fight ended in a controversial way. It's a shame it did, but it did. That's ok, but trying to pretend it didn't (NSAC) or trying to cover-up the controversy by saying "Kovalev was already done" isn't going to cut it when scrutinizing the fight. It just won't hold up, which is why I brought in the first Ward-Kov fight and the Joshua-Wlad fight.

Ward won, he won in controversial fashion, and we don't know what would have happened had Meeks let the fight continue.

And we move on to the next fight.

Actually im dealing in facts you are arguing opinions which have been proven wrong by officials during and after the fight. I don't have to have much else to back it up when I have the facts. You on the other hand have maybe 1 photo bit of footage showing 1 punch below the belt line. As I said we have different opinions which is fine and you can spin it however you want but the facts are facts.
