man the lead up to the hagler hearns fight gave me goosebumps...pushing with your feet to put your back into the seat as far as possible experiencing the sheer adrenaline and brutal punishment. watched it again and got the same feeling
Honestly this video is like THE litmus test to see if you're a boxing fan or not. If you don't get all hyper watching a video like this than something is wrong lol
LOL true. There should be some kind of volume test added. If you don't shout this loud, then you have no hope of becoming a fan, this loud, you're already a complete junkie, etc... I'm sure the neighbors thought I busted a nut.
:rofl There is Something about the look on Tommy Hearns face as he stands across the ring from Hagler just before the 1st round that gives me chills down my spine!!!:happy He had that look like "Oh yeah, we gonna fight alright:smoke"
goddamn there have been some monsters in the middleweight divisionmost of those guys looked lightning fast with devastating power. where has they all that talent gone to
THAT is a good observation. Might have to reign in my admiaration of that man myself, though it's unfair to do so off the back of a highlights reel. Needs to be looked at again though.
Pavlik hits hard there is no question about this. His sheer power IMO can be compared to these guys(his lack of technique and or ability doesn't allow him to utilize that power the way these monsters did), but that doesn't mean that he is anywhere near being as good of a puncher to those guys. There is a huge distinction that has to be made between a fighter that merely hits with a lot of force and a flat out great puncher. A hypothetical example would be comparing Kermit Cintron and Miguel Cotto. Sure Cintron can hit much harder than Cotto force wise, but Cintron is light years behind Cotto as far as being a great puncher. Cotto is so in another stratosphere and if someone where to ask me who's the better puncher it would be Cotto. Whats the difference between those ATG Middleweights in the video and the devastating punchers we have today? (miranda/pavlik/abraham etc) It is simply technique, those old school middleweights had technique to go along with their sheer power and size. Think about it...If Miranda or Pavlik was granted the ability to move with the technique and a bit more explosive speed their power would be 3x what it is today. Point being... You can be the harder puncher, but that no way in hell makes you the better puncher.
That is the first one that came to my mind. Just the way Graham's head hit the canvas made it that much worse. G-Man over Jackson I would have 2nd, that first shot put him on ***** street and the 2nd big punch nearly put him out of the ring.
That was probably the best **** I have ever seen..... That was the ****. Oh, and that Eubank **** was ****ing priceless. I like that dude now.. I mean that is just ...****ing BOXING... I love this ****ing sport.
