:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl That made me chuckle out loud - when I seen Hayes audacity when he started getting more confident - standing in front of Valuev - Square on - and exaggerating his footwork - like he was Ali. He was like a poor mans flat footed version of Roy Jones Jnr.
at least you're brutally honest with me. :good he's on top of this kind of list for me though. Although Ward is one I like so much and he should be on top of this kind of list after some more fights. We can only wait and see:think It's interesting that with say Hopkins, who for me is a complete fighter who has really mastered boxing from a scientific perspective, there is no style that is kryptonite for him, because he is equipped to deal with everything, he does it all. It is not a style that is his kryptonite, but an attribute, speed. Speed is the problem for Hopkins. For example, Jones outsped him by outmaneuvering him etc, whereas Taylor outsped him in an offenseive fashion, with his fast jab. They did it differently, but the common denominator was the speed and the fact that they could beat him to the punch. Other fighters who have tried to outmaneuver him like Johnson failed big time, not fast enough. Other fighters like Tito who tried to be offensive failed too. It's not a style that does him, it's the speed. So I wonder if it will be similar with Ward. He is a complete fighter imo, or at least that will be proven if anybody doubts it as of yet. Will it be an attrobute that does him in? Some say it will be his chin, maybe so. I'm intrigued anyhow. Can't wait to watch this man again, and what you said about it being a superfight in a thread on here between him and Froch, providing he comes through his next fight. I agree fully, that is a superfight to me no questions asked
1. Mayweather 2. Rigondeaux 3. Gamboa 4. Robert Guerrero 5. Juan Manuel Marquez 6. Andre Ward 7. Miguel Cotto 8. Sergio Martinez 9. Golovkin 10. Bradley It's a tough list really and goes more on the styles you like mmm
Yep, Ward has gone from amateurish and glass chinned bloke who had only beaten Edison Miranda on points, to one of the top P4P stars within just a few fights. As I always say, it's amazing what you find out about a fighter when the best fight the best :deal Same with Frochy, he seems limited, slow and sloppy. But his will, durability and ability to fight hard for 12 rounds, has prospered. The mid-range master was nearly retired, the slick Yank shown to be a *****, the hard punching Armenian showed up to be a one-trick pony. Froch, who had what seemed a horrible draw (and it was) has come through it, and now has a chance to improve his reputation further by taking on someone who has been a top contender over three weights for well over a decade, is well known for his own durability, and is canny and as seasoned as anyone other than the only man to previously stop him. Ward has come up with loads of awkward sluggers, and has had good preperation for the current master of that style in his division. As I say, on paper Ward seems the obvious favourite, but you only know what will really happen WHEN THE BEST FIGHT THE BEST :deal As for B-Hop, a great point about his kryptonite, but the ability to impose that speed consistently is also required, or he makes it tight, scrappy aand uses all of his old school tricks to snatch a decision. Pascals stamina, which is an inherent problem IMO, is exactly why he can't use his own athleticism to beat Hop IMO. What makes me laugh is that Pascal said something like 'he wants me to be scared, but I'm coming out punching' atsch Hopkins has truly stiched this kid up, bluffed him and is gonna' pick him off with relative ease IMO.
Froch is a technically better fighter than Sergio, yes. BTW Mayweather is not active therefore is not on the list.
yeah, you need some kind of skill level as a vehicle for your speed to eb a factor against Hopkins otherwise you're probably going to get a total schooling like most people do regardless. Good post too. I thought Dirrel clearly beat Froch for what it's worth, and I thought he boxed very well against Abraham, I thought people were harsh on him after that fight, saying he was an actor and all that. Some of the reactions in the general etc were actually pathetic and a lot of the people saying the extreme stuff would probably run away from the ring of asked to get in it. Dirrel is a quality pure boxer, but the weakness that has became his label is definitely the right one, there is no denying that, he has issues of mental weakness. Anyway, I agree with your synopsis of the Hopkins-Pascal fight, and the Ward-Froch potential showdown. Froch has a big will to win, and I rate that.
