Wasn't there a minimum if there is a world title on the bout? Or it depends what it will be set as a minimum by WBA?

Assuming Fres has more or less maintained the form he had against Chagaev some 3-4 years ago and Charr doesn't take the fight seriously... Would an Oquendo upset really be that much a shocker? The cageyness that he's been notorious for was still there against Chagaev and he's certainly the better boxer. If father time isn't too much of a problem a SD Oquendo win wouldn't shock me in the slightest.... And yeah the fight is complete crap..... Despite my over analysis of the matchup.

Don't let them see this, they will most likely give you a call thinking your backyard is a potential venue.

Oquendo should have retired years ago! Charr is not much better..............they will both lose the fight!

Yes there should be a minimum bid, because this is supposed to be a heavyweight titlefight. But that was the issue last time with Fres involved, with nobody wanting to bid on it because the fight simply wasn't worth close to the minimum ($1M I believe for the "Regular") with a guy in his mid 40's that hasn't fought since 2014, against either Briggs or Ustinov.

They have to get this over with before Oquendo dies of old age, so they just removed the minimum to make sure it actually happens this time around.

Even if something happens with Oquendo, TEAM Oquendo will go to the court and win it again!!! And yeah I thought it's 1 million as well. The last time actually someone got the money on the table when Briggs vs Oquendo was about to happen in Miami. But it's a huge risk and no one will pay twice. Probably a smart move by WBA.

No need I'll just fire up the BBQ, I'll get Rummy to be the ref, you can be the announcer, Madballster, myself and Intentional Butt can be the refs.

You think Bailey and Dino would put on some Bikini's and be ring card girls? :cheer::zlumi:

Does anyone remember the video they made for Chagaev for the Oquendo fight? They made him look like some sort of Attila the Hun. Cringeworthlingly epic:

If it goes ahead, it leaves an entry point open for someone to fight the winner as a short path to the main WBA belt.

I can think of a few names possibly interested - Fury, Haye/Bellew, Pulev/Miller or Zhang (fight in China) if he got ranked.

Could someone back the fight in a way that included options for their fighters next up?

    That's nothing new.
The WBA had regular (pun somewhat intended) low hanging fruit available at heavyweight for the last 15 years.
