I recorded the Burkinshaw card and watched it the next day. The commentary was fine, but the set was so bad it would make Bunce cringe. It was based on someone's front room and pundits like Jamie Moore all brought bottles onto the set as if it was lads night in front of the TV. If they can drop the cringe set it would be ok.

Coverage though is picking up Friday night Lara card including Beterbiev. Saturday they have got the Channel 5 show from 7.30-10pm.

I am hoping they pick up Porter v Broner

Haven't managed to tune into it yet. It's annoying that they don't show the repeat, but I should have Sky Go in a couple of weeks finally so might be able to get involved!

It's good that the undercard fights are being shown on Spike with the main bout being shown on Five. Haven't caught any of the boxing yet on Spike TV but it's good that Spike/Five have a strategy in place going forward.

It's also great that overseas cards are being shown, long may that continue.

As someone who doesn't watch much telly, can someone enlighten me what the deal is with Spike TV - i.e. is it a British channel? I've got my girlfriends dad's Sky Go so hoping to be able to have access to another channel with boxing on it.

It's effectively a men's lifestyle channel which is owned by the same group as Channel Five/MTV etc. So they aren't short of a few bob.

The US channel shows a lot of combat sports including MMA and boxing. Fortunately they seen to be repeating this format in the UK with the boxing being the PBC cards, some Hobson cards and the undercards of Mick's shows.

I liked the American coverage on Spike last night. 2 fights and no padding. Every to the point.

Pleased that I recorded the Teleshopping afterwards as Boxing ran over the scheduled time by 5 minutes and I would have missed the end

Great coverage from Chicago on Spike. Commentary by Dave Bontempo, as always, was very good particularly as he keeps quiet between rounds. It's a pity Sky and Box Nation almost always use British commentaries. Surely it would be cheaper to just take the American feed. But then again the Sky army would loose out on their week long "jolly" to Las Vegas.
