That's actually a good question. I have no clue whatsoever what his plan B is, and I don't think I would even rate his plan B. Like Rigondeaux, Kovalev is great, very specialised at what he does best. Outside of this, he's more limited although not vulnerable like a Rigo. Sergey should seek to fight ugly...but this is what makes Ward so good, he'll outhustle you here, too!

    Hhmmm... it seems Kovalew doesn't have a " PLAN A" !

    Why would anyone think he has a " PLAN B " ?

I believe Sergey and his team when they say they don't have a plan.

I think he'll see what Ward brings to the party in the first couple of rounds, and then go from there.

Kovalev isn't getting enough credit on these boards, he's far more than an out and out puncher. People should go watch some of his past fights instead of watching highlights and KO compilations.

I have Ward winning by controversial decision, but only because i see him pot shotting, holding, making it ugly, and the ref allowing him to do so. If somehow Sergey manages to keep this fight at range, i can see him busting Ward up.

People aren't giving kovalev enough credit and you're not giving Ward the correct credit.

Considering how much i dislike Ward, i think i'm giving him plenty of credit.

I have no idea what the term " correct " credit means ?

:beer-toast1: Agree that the "FIGHT" depends on the referee.

The last thing Kovalev wants is for the fight to go to the judges...
those decisions don't go well for foreigners.

Whilst i have total respect for Wards skill set and ring IQ, his thinly veiled sense of self entitlement, and huge superiority complex just grate on me, and don't even get me started about this whole SOG act.

Ward has the skills and the boxing brain to win this fight, but he will have to nullify Kovalev and the only way he does that is to make it ugly and maybe bend the rules. He won't be dancing circles around Kovalev like some of the halfwits on here think he will.

I honestly thought Kathy was a shrewd business woman, but lets look at the facts....

    Kovalev is the draw.

    Kovalev is the Champ.

Ward has done nothing since beating Chads corpse.

The fight is in the States.

The judges and Ref are all American, in a fight against a Russian.

And Ward is picking up the bigger purse !!!!

    :clapclap:I agree with your opinion.

Kathy Duva is NOT the sharpest knife in the drawer !

The Belt Holder should get the lion's share of the purse.

Ward has camped out in OAKLAND... home ring advantage evident.

    Already mentioned the "foreigner" aspect.

    Good post !

"Considering how much I dislike Ward", that pretty much sums up my point, brother.

You're confusing what he does on a consistent basis with inconsistent, yet questionable, tactics he's used.

Ward is making more than double what Kovalev is making. How is that possible if Kovalev is the draw?

Stevenson is the champ @ 175.

Dawson beat the best name on Kovalev's resume in his previous fight.
