The quitting is getting annoying

I have more problem with the refs who stop fights simply because they're one sided, or a guy hasn't even hit the canvas.

 

funny. you have a username that cares for health of the people.

 

Fighters are human and if they are taking a beating and there's nothing else to prove then quiting is justified. No sense in being brain damaged later in life just to please some dumb ass fans.

 

If they don't wanna fight anymore, they don't wanna fight anymore. Boxing isn't a gladiatorial fight to the death. We can not force them if they can't do it anymore. Just don't support their next fight.

 

I only have a problem with surrendering, or quitting, if the fighter doesn't put forth a real effort.

 

I don't take much issue with people quitting on their stools if they feel they've got nothing left as much as say people not making weight or coming into a fight with less than their A game.

 

If you don't give it your all, or it looks like you are gunshy from the first bell it is one thing, but to be mad at a fighter who has tried their best but still is getting hammered and quit for concern of their health and ability to carry on fighting is absurd. Go watch a **** fight, you will like the endings better.

 

It's just a ****in' sport man. Get over it. You have no right to judge these fighters taking horrible beatings, and degrade them for knowing when enough is enough. Imagine how many deaths or permanent injuries could have been saved if the fighters took it upon themselves to do the dirty work since their corner and the ref are obviously dropping the ball. A fighter should NEVER have to quit on his stool. The ref should have already done it and if he hasn't... then EVERY corner should know their fighter well enough to do the right thing and stop the fight themselves.

Watching this fight was like watching my old tom cat when he has a mouse. The tom cat may be taking his sweet time about it, but you know that mouse is done for.

Rounds 1-3: Pavlik toyed with Rubio. He had him on the ropes where he usually finishes guys, but let him go 3 dfifferent times.

Rounds 4-5: Pavlik beat the **** out of Rubio's arms and shoulders, and landed body shots almost at will.

Round 6: Pavlik stood in front of Rubio and took his best shots with a freaking grin on his face.

Rounds 7-8: Pavlik hit Rubio pretty much at will. I was surprised to see Rubio make it out of the 8th.

Round 9: another 10-15 seconds and Rubio was done.

Rubio could not hurt Kelly, and he sure as hell wasn't go to box well enough to keep KP off of him. What the **** was he suppose to do? Risk brain damage so he could prove he's a man?

 

It's the promoters fault for all these mismatched fights, where the opponent barely stands a chance of winning.

 

those who quit in their stool have nothing left..they would find it hard to return to the mainstream..they still have my respect. the respect that i do not have for guzman and mayorga
