hard to get excited about a guy that hasnt fought in a year, and in the year before that fought guys ranked over 100. just cant even for a second get up for a guy who didnt even do 1 thing to earn a shot even at this paper title... and i hate povetkin...im trying to care, but nothing is happening

Maybe rephrase that as "one where he looked bad enough to maybe not deserve to stay undefeated.."?

He's had several performances that left a lot to be desired, let's not act like that was a freak occurrence.

in due time...he's taking his time though, no rush which is smart.

Anyhoo...you guys thinking Povetkin will roll easy on this are crazy. There is a big chance Rock will land some big punches in the 1st few rounds. Can Povetkin hang? We'll see.

Agree with TS, all about the weight he comes in. Still a bit heavy now but a month to prepare, he's been doing some serious conditioning.

Rahman Jr. won't go far IMO. The younger one, Sharif, is apparently special. He's only 16 though.

Unless he's hovering in at 245 lbs, Rahman is doomed. At that weight
his core seems to tighten up and he seems more able to
get his shots off quicker. Go Rock!!!! and stop eating!!!!!

HRJ has had some (mixed) amateur success and is obviously surrounding himself with the right people as mentors.

I was a big Rahman fan. I admit I first started following his career just because he was local, but he proved to be a good fighter.

The KO loss to Tua and the 1st KO loss to Maskaev should have never happened... but **** happens in boxing. He was well ahead in both fights before being stopped.

Tua hurt him after the bell for round 9, Rahman got no extra time to recover and was still hurt when he came out for the 10th, Tua jumped on him and the fight was stopped.

Maskaev knocked Rahman thru the ropes, Rahman's head was on the floor and his legs on a table and could not make it back in the ring in time... had he landed in the ring maybe he could have continued?

I thought he beat Tua in the rematceh but the fight was scored even/draw. He was ahead vs. Maskaev after 11 rounds in the rematch but no doubt he was stopped fair and square in the 12th round.

He also beat Corrie Sanders KO7, Lennox Lewis KO5, Kali Meehan KO5, and Monte Barrett W12 among others. He drew with James Toney.

Rahman kind of always been a jab jab and throw a right hand in there, he's got some decent power, but has Povetkin's chin been tested?
