    1. Khan fights as if he has OCD.
That is, in intervals, he apparently makes up his mind he will be pure offense, then the next interval (if he hasn't KDed his opponent), he is hell bent on running--AND if caught just taking the punches.
He seems incapbale of being in the flow, of being able to switch back and forth from offense to defense to offense as the situation and punches allow. To some extent this is based on his nature and fears.
    2. At times, his desire to prove he can take a punch appears to come from the Gerry Cooney school of ******ed boxers--showing himself and others how well he can take the op's best shots. Instead of making sure he NEVER takes any, if he can.

I suggest he train by practicing many intervals of just blocking and slipping wihtout throwing back. ANd THEN many intervals of standing toe to toe and blocking, slipping and countering. WITH NO RUNNING ALLOWED to break his OCD amateurish style. He should practice for 12 full RDs!

Afterall in this case, he was bigger, faster with harder punches. His style/OCD/mental weaknesses is what lost him this fight.

His fans are unhappy because they know he shoulda woulda coulda won. But he did lose. His own fault.

Personally I am not sure that at this POT he can change--as this runs deep (no pun intended), and indeed Freddie may not be the one to take him there.

    I agree he was capable.
    But didn't.

Think rematch may go even worse for him, unless he makes drastic hanges. Which I don't see him or Roach doing.

in a rematch, who would win?

i'd say as poor as khan was he'd win by a margin. i can't see him attempting to copy floyd (badly) again. he just lacks the subtlety.

Problem is Khan don't have the leg's (Stamina @ 140lbs) to allow him to fight from the outside all-night, Nor does he have the "Solid" chin to develop a premier inside game.
(+ He doesn't seem to punch as hard without his adidas gloves)

One of the prob's I see is his inside game is weak-as-****.

agreed. he needs to learn some inside game and also calmness he gets too excited just doesnt seem to know how to control distance with his jab or feints he does it with his feet constantly moving around and lunging in recklesssly. he needs more control over himself

Khan will always be like this. He can never become an inside fighter. Roach is partially to blame for that. But khan just seems lost when it comes to inside fighting. He only knows how to clinch. Also he cant punch backing up. He runs till he can set his feet and fire back to that in n out style.

You wanna learn how to punch while moving backwards and turning all at the same time watch erik morales. He has it down to perfection. Brandon rios is great inside fighter. He is effortless with his hooks n uppercuts, just leaning on you throwing them heavy hands. Completely ruins dudes faces.

inside game???? with that chin??? :nono

he needs to sit down on his punches with accuracy....why stay inside, when you can knock your opponent out outside.....

You make a great point. I felt Khan would have his way on the back-foot or the front foot, although I always thought Peterson would be more effective on the front foot rather than the back-foot, but when Peterson abandoned trying to box him and started coming foward putting the pressure on, its like Khan needed time to adjust, to get accustomed to the new strategy Peterson was employing.

Khan also seems to fight on anxiety imo. He reminds me of Ricky Hatton, Pacquiao and Calzaghe in that sense. He seems more effective when he raises the tempo and fights at a higher pace.

    1. He has an abysmal Glass Jaw.

    2. He has garbage footwork and chooses to run rather than set up angles.

    3. He is a Feather Fisted Fraud.

    4. His defense is porous.

    5. He has no in-fighting ability.

He has to be more patient Its no reason to waste energy throwing unnecessary combos, he should really pattern his style off a young DLH hell that's his boss.
