Napoles was welter king except for a hiccup from '69 to '75...Ken Buchanan was the 135 lb king, and after his master class performance vs Donato Paduano and defense vs Ismael Laguna, looked to reign for years, then came Duran..Bob Foster, the Killer Preying Mantis from Mars was terrifying the lightheavies..Ruben Olivares as bantam champ..Miguel Canto, Lord of the Flies....I've always thought the 70's were the Golden Age...with free tv title defenses...15 round title limit...
For the heavyweights,1970-76 was the golden age. The thirties and forties could n't be beaten in the lighter weight divisions.
