1. Campbell 2. Marquez 3. J.Diaz 4. Pacquiao No way Marquez can be number 1, Campbell holds 3 legit belts.
Well lets c Campbell got his butt whopped by Casa. JMM knocked out Casa. Peden sucks ass and knocked Nate out.
Cassamayor was the lightweight champion due to his victory over Corralles. By all rights - Juan Manuel Marquez should be considered the champion. Now with Pacquiao moving to welterweight - this leaves a clear opportunity for Marquez and Nate Campbell to square off and give us some clarity in the division. If there's one thing everyone agrees on - it's that David Diaz was not THE lightweight champion. Pacquiao's win over Diaz is therefor insignificant in the title picture unless he chooses to unify with the other champions.
Nate Campbell and he has been the real lightweight king sence he beat Juan Diaz even if Joel Casamayor was the Ring champion. Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao, and Juan Diaz are not far behind.
Santa Cruz deserves to be in the discussion because he clearly beat Casamayor although Casa was rusty. Nate deserves the top spot, he took it from Juan Diaz, undeniably. I would put Pac above Marquez because of his two close fights with JMM, I though he won both. Although I would rate the Casa victory of JMM higher than the Pac victory over Diaz. 1)Campbell 2)Juan Diaz 3)Pacquaio 4)JMM 5)Santa Cruz
JMM is the man, but THE MAN status is vacant - he has to fight Campbell for the undisputed championship.
