**The real question is: Does GGG has the resume to deserve a fight against Cotto?**

This thread is all about cottos fans that are scared about GGG.its not about anything else it's about fans of cotto that don't want to see there man go down in a brutal way..

 

Alvarez will definitely demand more than GGG, but in return Cotto won't be making peanuts either. This is a fight that will guarantee attention, serious PPV sales and a 24/7 series that will definitely attract everyone. Not to forget that this will be a Puerto Rico vs Mexico fight and we all know how many that attracts when it happens. Against GGG, Cotto will be making good money but absolutely nothing compared to what he would make fighting Alvarez especially if Alvarez beats Lara impressively(which many expect him not to). This is the type of fight that Cotto seeks at the end of his career, he has nothing left to prove really by fighting the likes of GGG for decent(at best) money. He already dedicated his entire career giving everyone he possibly can major shots/fights when no one wanted to fight them. Guys like Torres, Concreto, Trout, Clottey, Foreman, Mosley, Quintana, Malignaggi, Maussa...etc. The man is clearly beyond that and wants serious paydays and a serious payday is guaranteed against Alvarez, NOT against GGG.

As far as the Chavez/GGG fight being on PPV is concerned, Chavez doesn't really need to score any big win to attract fans. He's a Mexican who's the son of arguably Mexico's greatest fighter ever. His last name brings him free publicity even if he wasn't a professional boxer. That type of person is lucky and extremely easy to hype regardless of opposition. It's like the son of Muhammad Ali being a professional boxer, do you think it will be hard to over-hype someone like that?. Didn't you notice how many robberies and bull**** "Draws" Chavez was getting as he was rising?, didn't you notice how they were extremely careful when picking his opponents?. Obviously they were doing that because they know he would make a lot of money regardless of opposition thanks to his last name. Add to that Bob Arum's masterful promotional skills and you have what you see today, a guy who could easily headline fighting a generally unknown opponent in GGG on PPV despite both not having a single significant victory.
