MY list is Johnson Ali Louis Hard to separate these three but I favor Johnson because at the time he fought... it pretty much was the last man standing !!!
Prime Foreman couldn't beat Ali. Tyson would be doggy paddled. But other than that, the k bros and fury would probably beat ali due to size and the fact that the fighters of today are just better than the fighters of yesteryear.
Ali was 6'3 with an 80 inch reach, so he's capable of reaching the K brothers; and fought with greater fluidity than most of the guys that Wlad faced (including Fury). I don't think size is as big of a consideration when the margin between them isn't all that great. Ali's got a good shot at beating anyone in the division's history, and I'd favor him over most.
Don't forget Ali spent almost 4 Years of His absolute prime in exile because of his stance on the Vietnam War also.!!!
The reason is simply because Muhammad Ali WAS the Greatest of All Time Don't forget we were denied 3 1/2 years of Ali in his prime for purely political reaons. Just imagine what he would have achieved if they had not robbed him of all that time Yes Ali is #1 of all time & right behind him comes Lennox Lewis. Both Tyson & Holyfield avoided him all they could & Bowe was scared to death of him !!!! THE GREATEST MUHAMMAD ALI !!!!!!!!!
He'd have probably cleaned out the division. Would have been interesting to see Ali at his absolute best against Frazier at his absolute best.
you mean his draft dodging? he is hardly the only pro athlete to be drafted, just the only one who fled the country to avoid going.
Holyfield beat Holmes, Tyson, Foreman, and I had an older Holyfield beating Lennox in the rematch. And Bowe, for garnish.
Also, the primary reason Frazier rates so highly is because he beat Ali. If Ali goes 3-0 against Joe, he'd get less credit for that than going the 2-1 he actually did. Outside of Ali, Joe doesn't have a top 10 ATG resume. It's a feedback loop- Frazier beating Ali somehow does more for Ali's resume, because then Ali was able to prove he could beat a man great enough to beat him. That only increases stock when it's fighters you like because you don't have to hold a loss against the loser. Beating a lesser version of the guy that beat you (and yes, Frazier in both fights 2 & 3 was a lesser fighter than the first one) shouldn't get you more credit than just winning in the first place.
