    Bob Arum...

Floyd's hatred of Bob is what's most likely holding this up. His last 6 fights have been against Golden Boy or Don King fighters. I think Floyd just doesn't want to put money in Bob's pockets. Cotto, Margo and Pacman all are promoted by Top Rank and that's why they won't get a fight with Mayweather.

If Pacman wants to make the fight he might have to do what Sugar Shane did for their upcoming fight...Shane cut ties with Golden Boy for the fight and Manny may have to cut ties with Top Rank for the Floyd fight.

How do you figure? This would be the biggest grossing PPV ever...w/o Bob Arum taking a cut Pacman would certainly get more $$$. I believe he did or does still have his own promotional company (Manny Pacquaio Promotions). If that is the case, that's less hands in the pot and more money for Manny.

True...but didn't Pacman say he has like two fights left? Because he's going to do the Politic thing fulltime? If that's the case, he needs to make the move.

    think of it this way....

if he fights under arum he will have a guaranteed amount of money.....

if he leave arum and decides to promote himself there is no guaranteed money..

there is a very good reason why we call them PROMOTERS

    :good

yet, if he is under contract with arum, he would have to buy his way out of it, which would be stupid, if he only fights one more time

Pac said he is fighting another three years, which would be 6 more fights.

not that it really matter but Arum said Floyd was the best since Ali, but he said Pac was the best he's ever seen.

In the post conference after the Mosley fight, Floyd was talking about Margarito and one of his people said that they had just paid Arum to stop doing business with him ,so why would we do business with him anymore. Floyd expresses multiple times that he doesn't like dealing with Arum.

Yeah but you don't know how much it would cost to break the contract...even if it was $5 Million he would probably still get a payday around $30 -$35 million the minimum for the fight. Just look at the numbers Oscar and Floyd made for their fight:

    http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Oscar_De_La_Hoya_vs._Floyd_Mayweather_Jr.

"After PPV percentages were included, De La Hoya made $52 million and Mayweather $25 million. (The biggest payday in boxing history for two fighters in one bout.)"

I don't think it's just as cut and dry as you guys think it is. Manny and his team would have to break down the finances to see if it's worth it for his last fight.
