I've never heard of someone not drawing because they're "too nice".

    That's hilarious.

So if outspoken does not = talking ****, why are all your examples of fighters who are most reknown for talking ****?

i dont think tyson was so much of a **** talker till later... he was just outspoken and always doing something crazy.... by being outspoken or a **** talker it makes you a spectacle... by making yourself a spectacle you make people want to see you... by being nice you dont make you self a spectacle because nice is what people expect to see and what people should see.... by being real outspoken or a big **** talker is unusual to the people...

the key to all this is you have to be good

edit: shane dont even look like a bad ass.... that big cheesy smile... he emits niceness... like if he was at a podium @ a circus i wouldnt pay 10 cents to listen to what he had to say..

Tyson was very nice AND soft spoken for a long time. He got by because he was a massive puncher and a breath of fresh air in a stagnant HW division. It wasn't until the early 90s that he became "outspoken" aka a massive **** talker.

If you think he just started talking crap when later on his career, go back and watch him tell Razor Ruddock in the early 90s that he was going to make him his girlfriend and force him to kiss him.

You are spot on about Jones. I can barely understand him when he speaks but he's clear as a bell when he raps - go figure!

And to the OP - De La Hoya is far from a loser. Far, far from a loser.

Okay, so Oscar had 25 KO wins in his first 30 fights, was a 4 division champion, and had destroyed the likes of Jorge Paez, Rafael Ruelas, Genaro Hernandez, and Jesse James Leija early on. He also beat John John Molina, Julio Cesar Chavez in to a pulp twice, Miguel Angel Gonzalez and Pernell Whitaker. He beat Ike Quartey and Oba Carr. ODLH was a KO artist. All within his first 30 fights!!!!

He then became undisputed Jr. MW champ, and then MW titlist.

Now if you don't know who half those boxers are, then please, don't call yourself a boxing fan.

But on Sept 99 all of the sudden he turned into a pugilist uh? :huhAnd decided to box Tito thus expecting an easy win because he was considered by many the king of kings in Vegas? :yepEvery mother****ing latino fan of boxing wanted to see both of them go at it in the middle of the ring to see who had more cojones but Oscar didnt want no part of it..... :yep

IN a funny way this makes complete sense, I despised Oscar until he lost to Trinidad.

kid, you aint been watching long enough to even talk about oscars career.......

what made oscar who he was, was the love/hate that people had for him....he was a pretty boy who grew up in poverty and could whoop the thugs asses, thats what kept him tied down with the casual high class fan.....but at the same time, he had his rough backround and he connected with everybody else....he basically had the indredients to be loved by everybody in the world, and he knew how to use that....
