People who made it out alive against prime Tyson.

In 1990 Buster Douglas (gatekeeper at best) defeated Tyson
In 1986 James Tillis (can) lost by UD
In 1986 Mitch Green (b level at best) lost by UD

well , actually , they all made it alive , even the ones who were koed.
We can do the same **** with Lewis & Holyfield.

    Fanboys will always be fanboys.

Its not good when the "man" in the division is a bore to watch though.

David Haye would be so much better for HW boxing as Champ :deal

I'm too lazy to read all this ****. Preemptive G. W. Bush style ''**** you''. The reason the HW suck so hard is that Wlad is really good and everyone else is utter shite. Wlad doesn't have anyone to realistically face with in a 50/50 type fight.

I don't think thats the case, Wlad hasn't faced quite a few of the Divisions best guys yet.

He is also a KO waiting to happen.

They say the division sucks because there are no heavyweight champions from America.

Who won the gold medal "before" winning the heavyweight champship?

I don't like Wlad, far from it. But who is better than Wlad in the HW divison than Wlad?

Povetkin is another amateur gold medalist and might give Wlad a
bit of a go. I wish he would get more seasoning and maybe a trainer
like Floyd Mayweather Sr. that could teach him some defensive skills
to go with that workrate and inside fighting. Right now probably Wlad
just lands to many hard jabs, left hooks and rights. If James Toney can
master the shoulder roll I can't see why this gifted Russian couldn't
learn some old school skills from one of the master U.S. trainers. I'm
sure he has the hunger and work ethic to continue to develop his craft.
I'm not impressed by Povetkin's present Russian trainers. I hope Sasha
    wins but I doubt it.

Povetkin is good, I like Povetkin, he reminds me of the Marshmallow man from Ghostbusters for some reason. But let's be honest, Wlad's gonna **** that kid up. Noone is really on the same level as Wlad. That's why the HW division sucks, ther'es noone to really match him up against.

And before people start calling me a Wlad nuthugger, please, I hate Wlad. I've been hatin' on that fool for years now, like it or not it's the truth.

If you look at the 90's era, not only did you have top-level talent in Lewis, Holyfield and Tyson, but you had a strong supporting cast of the likes of:

    Morrison
    Mercer
    Ruddock
    Bowe
    Moorer
    Foreman
    Douglas (briefly)
    Tucker
    Tua
    etc.
Note how many are big punchers too.

    80's:

Top-level fighters in Holmes and later Tyson. Supporting cast includes:

    Page
    Witherspoon
    Tubbs
    Bonecrusher Smith
    Pinklon Thomas
    Snipes
    Coetzee
    Tillis
    Weaver
    Dokes
    Tucker
    Damiani

I could go on with the 70's, 60's etc. No need to really.

The era IS weak. How can the likes of Igbragimov be called a champion? How can the likes of Tony Thompson be a mandatory? It's a joke.

Both in prime Tyson's and Lewis eras the HW division was repeatedly quoted as weak. With time people now say it was strong.

Some of these eastern European Heavies are Olympic Gold and Silver medallists. They're not bums, they're just totally unhyped.

I think it's the lack of flashy KO's...
    The era of the
    This content is protected
    is over. (For now)

    Wlad has 90% KO percentage
but how many boring round's do we have to go thru
with the new style Wlad to see one?

    It's just not Heavyweight'ish enough.
We don't want to see someone try to do Ali...
EXSP not somone who is danm near 7ft tall..

Its a cylical thing. Lack of public intrest coupled with a slew of average fighters and the bull**** of German TV networks has created this mess. No wonder US Networks love Haye so much.
