The only reason I see Floyd losing is if Pac catches him flash and hurt him. Either that, if Pac outlands him due to him too choosy of his punches. Pac will surely land, if not the head, the body.
I both agree and disagree with you here. I disagree with you first over your assertion that Floyd has only elite level skills. He has elite level fitness too. This will be the first time for a long while that two guys are meeting who both train like machines. I don't know if I could go so far as to say that Mayweather would be in better shape than Pacquiao come fight night, but I would definitely make the argument that in the latter rounds he will have more left to give simply because of the nature of the two boxers' styles. Pacquiao, for all of his incredible conditioning, also expends a lot of energy and fast, whereas Floyd's style is geared specifically towards both the conservation of energy and the forcing of his opponent to spend his. He doesn't do much work. I don't think I've ever seen him gassed. Whereas Pac, even in the Cotto fight, was visibly tired. On the other hand though, I agree with you on the mental aspect. He has the same thing Ali and Louis had in that he believes he is meant to win. You can see on his face that there are no nerves at all when he enters the ring. He loves to be there. That is the scariest kind of person to fight. On the other hand, Floyd believes in his skillset and his talent, but must still have a sliver of reservation, particularly given what people are beginning to say about Pacquiao, and given the nature of his recent exploits. It is also easier for Pac to enter a bout now with absolute confidence, because pretty much everything Freddie Roach has said will happen, has happened. When he says something to him like look Manny, Floyd dips away and to the right, catch him with that left hook and he will go down. Pac has no reason to believe anything other than exactly that happening. If the Mayweathers are to be believed they have no such strategic preparation...
Look how composed Floyd remained during all the hoo-hah in the Judah fight. While he may carry on like a ***** outside of the ring, I do not beleive you will ever see Floyd lose his cool inside the ropes. Then again I don't think we will ever see Manny lose his cool either, so it's not really the best aspect to bring into discussion.
He will most likely hurt Floyd at some point. I don't think Floyd will break this guys will, and Manny will just keep coming forward and throwing pinpoint punches. Floyd is going to get hit and it will hurt. We'll see how he handles it. Manny will most certainly throw more punches and be the aggressor, so Floyd better make him look bad doing it.
:deal He's not faced the likes of Manny (or Mosely, Cotto, Margo, Williams) We'll see when he really gets put to the test. He almost lost to DLH and Manny just walked thru him. Ali lost, would you say that Floyd is mentally superior to Ali because he lost? We'll see if Floyd steps up to fight paul Williams if he cleans up, that would be equivelent to Ali's win over Foreman. I don't think we'll ever see it.
Very good response, thank you. I agree with you completely. However, I was not implying that Mayweather does not train with the best of them. It's more that he does not seem complete on an intellectual level, on a spiritual level. Doesn't mean he can't do lots of pushups and dips and run like the wind, I just question his mentallity.
This content is protected It doesn't matter what Floyd does, haters will ***** about it 'til he loses and then ignore his every great accomplishment as a fighter. This post is the most errant load of tripe I've ever ****ing read. A man who trains as hard and fights as well as Floyd Mayweather is extremely mentally strong. Keyboard champs will never understand. Have you idiots forgotten what "Boxing" is? Are you all seduced by the MMA phenomenon and forgotten that it's a sport first and a person smashing contest second? The correct sporting strategy differs from fighter to fighter, but eveyone has gotten so swept up in Mannymania that they've forgotten that "Running and countering" is This content is protected  Hey, remember that time that Muhammad Ali spent the whole night running and countering against Frazier? BORING! Or the time Sweet Pea Whittaker spent the whole night running and countering against Haugen? Or Paez? Or Ramirez? ****, awful and terrible. Or Sugar Ray Leonard running and countering against Duran all day? You ****ing infatuated moronic nut-huggers need to: 1.) **** right off 2.) Learn about the ****ing sport rather than just one fighter 3.) Get a grip on reality 4.) Think about what you've done
Mayweather will feed Pacman a study diet of stiff jabs in the first round with a main course of lead rights. Pacman will attack valiantly, attempting to score to the body. He will begin to absorb hooks to the right ear and overhand rights leading to a wicked right uppercut that will floor Pacman sometime in the first four rounds. He will feign greater damage than is real but Mayweather will not bite. He will force Pacman to attack and the punishment will continue. Mayweather intends to make a career statement in this fight. He does not want to risk the later rounds with Pacman or leaving it to the whim of the judges. Never say never. Mayweather by TKO in 6 or less.
I agree that Mayweather wants to make a career statement but that is secondary to him winning. Beating Pacquiao itself will be enough of a statement. He wanted to make a statement by knocking out Marquez but due to a culmination of JMM's chin and Mayweather's safety first mentality he didn't. Because he couldn't. Not that his phenomenal abilities don't allow him to, but his desire to leave the fight the way he entered it stops him.
its because he's been fed with steroids by his cracked predator father his body has grown immune to roids. no roids will help him now against pacquaio. that's gotta explain his dwindling workrate as he grows older.:good
actually he knew exactly what he waz talking about and if hez a newb then even more embarrassin for u hez not talking about shape dumb ass he is talking about HEART and manny has got it so does floyd he just doest have near as much and that waz this guyz point that the HEART will overcome the SKILL wether that happenz is another thing but dont call him a hater juzt because he is correctly pointing out that manny in the ring has that fighting spirit that will put it all on the line when he seez the best opportunitiez manny is pretty good at seeing those opportunitiez you should be horse whipped for treating a newb like this
If heart won fights Gatti wouldn't have gotten pounded into the dirt by Floyd. This is boxing, and 9 times out of 10 the better boxer wins. Maybe it's Floyd, maybe it's Pac, but it'll have ****all do with Bruce Lee, spiritual development, or tapping into some deeper natural power, it will be about who has the ability to put their fist into the other guy's face the most often. I like Bruce and all, but people certainly pay a lot of attention to the fighting advice of a man who made movies for a living. P.S. Floyd KO1 Bruce Lee
