Wow, I just checked boxrec to verify this, pretty shocking. But to put it in perspective, the titles aren't that important. Gamboa still has his status as a legit top 3 featherweight. If the belts are so important, then he should've fought Chris John by now to legitimize his WBA title.

I remember Margarito fought Cintron for the IBF belt, then dropped it for his fight with Cotto. Then Clottey beat Judah for the IBF belt, then dropped it before his fight with Pacquiao. Moral of the story: Arum has his fighters win the IBF belt, then has them drop it before a big fight. Gamboa must be getting ready for a big fight? Oh, and Robert Guerrero never dropped it, and never got a big fight.

According to his manager Gamboa thought only the WBA belt was on the line, and since there's no Saturday weigh-in for the WBA (hey Herm BTW, good to see you here), El Ciclon was probably having a breakfest or something and thought the IBF is safe.

I believe all this just speculation, but if hard evidence does come up I think Arum should be banned. Of course not long before the Bobfather defenders show up.

That's plausible. I don't have much sympathy tho, remember gamboa got handed a belt also.

Johns was offered a fight and didn't took it, so he fought the best available opponent at the time, and then went after Salido the legit IBF belt holder, what more do you want? You should know by now tha Johns doesn't want to face Gamboa, he is guarding his "0" like Fraud.

What are the WBA doing in regards to Gamboa's "unified title"?...

If that's true, its absolutely disgraceful. The titles Gamboa holds don't really mean much but that doesn't mean a promoter should steal one from him! Arums behaviour is getting worse and worse. What a ****.

why was he pissed if he accepted the bribe? he should have turned it down.

Arum is a snake. From a promoter's point of view it's easy to see why he did what he did. What I don't understand is why Gamboa accepted to miss the weigh in. If Arum paid Gamboa to drop his belt and Gamboa accepted to do it, then there's no reason for Gamboa to be pissed.

He didn't ask? But you guys know the reason behind this, now Garcia could pick a Belt without facing Gamboa, of course I know the kid is not ready just yet, but why ranking him so high so Arum can manipulate the governing bodies and his own fighters? He should b banned.

Mikey is a good fighter, but obviously he's not ready yet. This is almost as bad as GBP making Canelo a champ at a stage in his career that is early. This is ****ing sad, but like someoneelse said, don't **** with Arum. The guy is a lawyer basically and knows every rule in the book and uses it to his advantage. He'll want to make the most out of his investments before giving the fans the fights they want.
