When the best guy at 168 is called degale that shows you all you need to know about the competition Degale is the guy who lost to groves the guy who made hard work of beating martin murray and never even dropped him once Golovkin dropped him multiple times and stopped him. Rubio a guy guy Golovkin sparked inside 2 rounds goes 12 rounds with dirrell.
Dirrell whilst a good fighter in his own right has become mythical on this forum by so called fans who just want to see Golovkin lose.
We THINK that DeGale is the best fighter at 168. But that's based on his LOC, not at all on his abilities. Zurdo, to me, has the look of the top dawg at 168, but getting injured and being laid off has truly slowed his ascent. That said....Zurdo was set for a weak first defense prior to the injury, while DeGale has fought Bute, Medina and is scehduled for unification next month. The winner of that fight will undoubtedly be the top name of the division, but yeah, easy pickings for GGG. As for Zurdo v GGG....coulda been a GREAT fight had it gotten made just after the Abe win, but now, even in light of Vlasovs recent climb up the CW rankings and Zurdos W over Maxim, it looks like Zurdo's gonna need to add some names to his resume to make for a super fight with GGG where the winner of DeGale Jack would be a huge seller out the gate.
