The reality is Povetkin is not a big monster but has far to much for wilder

    Let me make this clear

I for one am not saying povetkin is some great fighter who is a real big killer but he has too much for wilder to cope

People need to remember povetkin struggled with huck a ageing wlad beat him knocked him down a couple of times

wilder also knocked out firtha earlier then povetkin

But one thing for sure if Povetkin will be his first real test and he has never fought a fighter at his level

my point is if wilder manages to win somehow its not some big big victory

Let me get this straight: you, along with many others, believe wilder needs to stop ducking, man up and face Povetkin, his first real test who many claim will knock him out. Yet somehow, it's not a significant victory if he pulls it off?

Boy, you guys sure do cover all your bases.

    1. He had a tough night with Huck, it was his worst career performance, but he still beat Huck that night.

    2. Huck would be the best name Wilder has ever beaten.

    3. Ageing Klitschko used all his dirty tactics to get the win, that was not a boxing match but a wrestling competition.

    4. Firtha almost had Wilder down with a jab.

    5. Povetkin broke his hand against Firtha and did not throw any power punches.

    6. Povetkin fought a better version of Firtha.

It's better to struggle with a good boxer like Huck than struggling with career losers as Dustin Nichols, Harold Sconiers, Eric Molina, etc.

I doubt any of Wilders defenses can survive 3 rounds vs Povetkin.

I think Pov splatters him but if Wilder wins I'll give him an awful lot of credit

Povetkin is not great for sure and if szpilka could outbox wilder , I'm pretty sure povetkin can too and I want to see wilder fight povetkin now , not when povetkin is 40 , anyway I will favor wilder because of height, reach and povetkins lack of power .

Clearly it would be significant to WILDER'S RESUME and rating.
But I understand that it wouldn't be a world-shattering victory, by any means. Povetkin is proven to be way below Klitschko's class, for example.

What the hell? Povetkin lack of power?

He knocked 4 iron chinned heavyweights out in his last 4 fights

Wilder should be judged by Wilder's standards, not Wlad's, not yet. Povetkin is the fight he needs next, therefore he deserves credit, not someone discrediting him like schooling is.

NO ONE claimed it's an "earth shattering" victory or ANYTHING comparable to Wlad's accomplishments.
