Got this off another site, and thought it was a great point. Pretty much sums up my thoughts on this idea. For those of you who are curious, these are the thoughts of D. Fischer.

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]"Bob Foster is one of the hardest punchers, pound for pound, in the history of the sport. Just because he had the power to hurt heavyweights doesn’t mean other hard-hitting boxers can jump to the so-called ‘glamour division’ and get respect. At the end of the day, as Foster, noted, it’s not how hard you hit but rather how well you take a punch that determines if you can truly hang with the big boys."

The obvious thing to point out here is that Foster did this against a much better generation of heavies, but the point still stands.

for some reason i dont think haye would win a title but he could do well. it would depend on what HW's he fought. i guess he could win a belt against maybe chagaev but wlad or peter. forget it.

I'd like to see Haye call out Toney...they both moved up, and they both talk. Maybe seeing how quick Haye is could motivate James "WBC Eliminator" Toney to train. :smoke

...but it's not like Toney is on top right now, Haye's probably not thinking of the guy.

Haye definitely hits harder than Foster to top it off & he's too quick for a lot of plodders like Peter(who's chin has been dentable lately), Wlad obviously beats him, but the rest are crap and are up for grabs.

I'll also say Valuev is just too big.

Chagaev, Ibragimov, Peter and the lot could easily get KTFO by Haye.

Yes, and the men he faced didn't weigh 250+ pounds like todays heavies.

Amsterdam do you really think he hits that much harder than Foster? Foster had a mean right hand.

I'm mildly excited about Haye too, but I don't see Haye pouncing with that lion on a zebra quickness on Peter, like he did to Mac the other night.

Peter is an elephant, and when Haye turns his head he'll get a tusk behind the head. :D

Haye has NO defense. He is VERY easy to hit. His movement is basic his left hand is trash and low. His right hand is his weapon and you DONT beat heavys with one great right hand. Period.
