I'm don't deny it.. it's VERY possible that Haye goes nowhere in the division.. even in it's current state. With a shaky chin like his who knows.
Well you can look at it like this too. Haye wouldn't be the only heavyweight packing a cruiserweight chin. As we only need to look at the consensus #1 and the past undisputed champion for this. But he will have to make massive style changes to compensate. Which ultimately, will make him one of those boring pathetic to watch heavyweights. It's a lose-lose situation for him. If he's comfortable being a heavyweight who bangs away and risks being knocked out, then he may aspire to be as good as say, Tommy Morrison or maybe even slightly better banger. And he'll be fun to watch surely. But heavyweights who have flourished all have had to have great chins to carry on in exciting fashion. Without those great chins they'd have been smeared or forced to fight a very boring uninspiring contest. Like say a Lewis or Waldo.
I didn't think of those possibilities because I don't consider Oleg to be a real KO threat. Getting up 3 times versus McCline tells a good story of where his punch resistance is at the moment.
I'll pick him over Rahman. Rahman is slow of both hand and foot speed. He is also packing a cruiser chin. But Rahman himself said it best when he said "a hurt man is a dangerous man" Believe me I'd watch it.
No, I want to know what Haye can do...Hasim is too KTFOable. :smoke He should fight someone like James "WBC Eliminator Toney...he doesn't get KO'd.
Indeed. Maskaev is another one of those aging 90s heavyweights that had real power in the right hand. He was just so robotic and vunerable that people overlook it. He had Johnson real shook up from one right hand somewhere around the 2nd or third rounds. Maybe even the first. And his kos of Derrick Jefferson and both Rahman fights. Can't really overlook those either.
Yeah, old and inactive, he should have been blasted out of there very quickly. I don't feel he's much a KO threat to anybody with a solid jaw, Oleg that is, his punchers reputation really comes from the two Rahman events and a couple of highlight reel KO's over other glass jaw's, other than that he's not been much of a hitter. Rahman's probably got the worst chin among top 20 ranked HW's, period, it's not inspiring for Oleg that it took him 12 rounds to score that most recent knockout over Rahman. If Peter has the chin we thought he had, the type that absorbs Klit's punches(all criticism's aside, he's a proven puncher) and smiles, shouldn't be concerned over McCline's and Oleg's. That's why I think Haye beats him.
Wlad Klit was petrified against Barney Rubble so he'd probably **** himself if he had to fight David Haye. If Haye had of replaced Sultan i'd have gone with Haye in that fight.
Yeah, not only that but Oleg isn't even an effective puncher, not now anyway. Last two fights I saw him in ( Rahman II, Peter ) he was pushing with most of his shots, it didn't even look like he had much on 'em... slow as hell too.
Evidently it's the McCline thing...if it weren't for McCline maybe you wouldn't pick Haye to win this. Let's consider the KDs...the first one was a shoulder block... as Peter was already falling back, Jameel landed sort of an inconsequential kidney punch...the force of which should have kept Peter up had McCline not had such an effective football like shoulder block. Do you agree with my analysis of the 1st one...???
