I have to agree that Roy was overrated early on. Maybe he had a credit because he was treated badly at Olympics'88.

Roy should have quit after he lost the first Tarver fight. They made him a bad favor giving him the decision. He was under a false impression that he could continue compete with the best. It led to all those loses later. Something that have a very negative impact on his legacy.

No, its as simple as his reflexes going, that's it. It could be age, the drop in weight, the damage he took off the Tarver knockout, who knows.

his resume is a underrated (mostly by Brits and slappy fans) for simply not fighting Michalczewski, and Benn (which can be overlooked a lil)

Jones was never a great technical fighter. What he was was one of the greatest physically gifted fighters ever. As such he developed into a guy that relied on those physical gifts. Using only his reflexes for defence. Being able to stay out of range and strike and get out before a return. Jones actaully showed signs of being slower as early as his fight with clinton woods. Once he got touched by tarver his lost confidence along with being old.

In his primes jones would have been a betting favorite vs everyone around his weight class in any era. Making excuses as to why he beat so many good fighters is just stupid and only a dumb ass would call fighters like hill, McCullum, vinny paz, reggie johnson, castro, suger boy malinga and griffen bums and cab drivers. Every one were world champs most multi times world champs all would still kick the **** out of the ts right now.

One thing I dont understand is why is Roy fighting big punchers. In June he will be fighting Dawid Kostecki a limited fighter but with a big punch. He should be fighting someone like Winky Wright maybe.

You look like a little ****** who has watched boxing for 2 years.

I use to hate Roy, but you are so wrong. He looked good against solid contenders. Go watch the Toney fight, or the Ruiz fight (no one toyed with Ruiz that easy at the HW level), etc.

    ****ing dumb ****.

When you step into the ring, all the BS is over. Not Jones fault Toney NEVER kept care of himself. Roy was young too, like Hopkins. :patsch
