It's because fans of boxing see an ATG unraveling before their eyes. Listen, boxing fans are not foolish. We know who is real and who isn't. There isn't a big following for Wilder because everyone knows he doesn't have that level of skill that will carry to an ATG status. The boxing fan sees how great Golovkin is. We don't see a guy crushing bums but showing weaknesses. Golovkin has no visible weaknesses and it's scaring his entire division away. His fighting style is immaculate. Remember to start telling your kids about how you grew up and watched Golovkin. How there were haters at the beginning of his career that thought he simply was beating bums, these people in the future will laugh that he had any detractors!
I like golovkin. His KO % is insane and I like his personality and style. But he's already in his mid 30's and just had his first PPV fight. You're being delusional if you think we're gonna be able to tell our newborn kids that we grew up watching him. He'll probably retire within a decade and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt. (Fighting at 44 years old)
a certain group of people who shall remain unnamed are embittered and terrified that a Korean/Russian is blossoming into the face of boxing
I will tell you why most of his haters hate him like Nay_Sayer above. 1. He's not a black american on PEDs 2. He's not arrogant and has a criminal record he's proud off 3. He doesn't beat up women
Why though? People make claims like this but it doesn't make sense.. Since Floyd is gone, there is no face anymore.. Why would it matter who it is? It had to be someone...
Yeah him who has never tried to have any contact with the GGG camp, is a Light Middleweight. on a different channel, with an advisor who will never put one of his fighters in with GGG. Golovkin is probably ducking Broner too by that reckoning.
Holds no title, brings no money, noone wants to see him at a ppv event, not even allowed to fight on HBO. Yet every other week, another obsessive GGG hater bings his name up.
And if GGG was to smash him, he'd be a blown up Light Middleweight who went life and death with Angulo, Martirosyan and Carlos Molina, and lost to Canelo and Paul Williams :-(
