After viewing the Pac vs. JMM III fight, and hearing how Squeaky voice Letterman ranted about why he was scoring it for Pac... and then seeing JMM lose on the cards (despite many fans feeling he won), I thought of how Floyd would have fought him. His days down at 130-140, I think he would have fought him more aggressive. Using angles, movements, and combinations attacks. Countering but being aggressive at times in order to confuse and keep Pac off-balance.

But at 147, Floyd became a more laid back counter-puncher until more recently. But why the change? Is it his legs and age that prevents him from moving around, pot-shotting, etc. ? Maybe. But maybe its that and he knows in order to beat Pac on the Cards and not just in the opinion of many of the fans (like JMM has done); it is to fight Pac more like how Morales fought him in the first fight (when he was still healthy at the weight).

Maybe he'll even mix up his attacks like he used to do back in the day down at 130-140. Maybe he is practicing and adjust*ng to what he is now but bringing back certain strategies to see if he can do it and endure a more intense fight.

They had their chance to take part in the biggest fight of the era for the past 3 years & neither showed enough interest to become an ATG immortal... they will always be remembered as the p4p kings that avoided the only fight that really mattered, they will never be on the level of a Whitaker or Chavez never mind a Leonard or Duran... these men actually fought each other to decide p4p best, respect is everything in this game & I have zero for pac or fmj.

Ps. message to thread starter... to answer your question, no, I don`t think floyd is preparing for pacquiao by fighting aggressively, if anything I think he is fighting aggressively vs lesser fighters to win some fans & take the sting out of the criticism he knows he is going to receive when `negotiations` fail again for the pac fight.

Ticket sales for PAC vs Bradley are so slow that they are offering free tickets, room, limo from airport, buffet.

There is only one reason for why he has become aggressive.

The style he used to possess worked so well because you needed to have alot of energy and a high workrate. He could bob and weave 15 rounds if he wanted to and use the ring whenever and however he wanted.

However now that he is old, his legs aren't the same. He cannot afford to waste that much energy which means he has to stay toe to toe and fight.

If you listen to the fighthype interviews where he isn't 'Money' and is just being himself, he admits this on various occasions.

Age and legs. It happens to everyone, especially in the mid thirties. If Floyd could still fight with his usual style, he would definitely be doing it. His entire approach to boxing has always been safety first, and doing whatever it takes to win, regardless of excitement or trying to prove his guts. Age has caught up with him, and he's clearly past his prime. I started noticing the decline in the Ortiz fight, but it was probably evident before that.

What is it with Mayweather fanboys, and *******s and their revisionist ****ing garbage.

You do actually realise that when Floyd left the 130 division, he had a WHOLE 7 fights, before facing Mitchell at Welter? 4 at Light, and 3 at L/Welter. Furthermore those 6 men had 17 defeats betweeen them prior to facing Floyd, so its hardly astronomical stuff, yet some Mayweather fans have him down as an ATG in both divisions.

    Unbelievable.

He ran the entire cotto fight, and when he wasnt running, he was darting in and out like in the gatti fight watch that second round after cotto picked him up...Floyd started doing that in and out stuff....Roach said he lost his legs, and now everyone says it, he only said it to give himself confidence in beating Floyd...dont listen to an old senile ******ed man with a mental condition, watch the fight and see for urself...he ran the whole damn fight when it was needed
