    Killer instinct.

When floyd became the people's champ he changed his persona from pretty boy to money. He became a bad guy of the sport.

When pac became the people's champ he literally championed himself for the people and went into politics. He became the good guy of the sport.

In pac's most recent fight we saw mosley constantly break up the action to tap gloves, we saw oblige. We saw pac show concern for his opponent through the latter rounds.

When ortiz came to apologise to floyd we witnessed a man with a killer instinct at work. He knew cortez had motioned them back together, he not only waited for ortiz to apologise, he feigned agreement to lure ortiz into a sense of security before knocking him out.

One thing is clear to me: pac is mellowing with age whereas floyd still has that eye of the tiger wanting to actually hurt his opponent.

Stylistically I saw floyd display more strength than I expected and we saw him land the right hand at will. The same right that jmm landed at will throughout his battles with pac.

Floyd is a solid 150 pounds which means he'll be the bigger man. He'd take any available opportunity to defeat pac and that mentality isn't reciprocated.

If floyd and pac fight it seems obvious that pac is gonna get ktfo.

Was floyd in the right? Well it's a fight game and ortiz wasn't protecting himself at all times. We saw floyd pull something similar against gatti to an equally negative reaction in the face of his rule bending.

I think bunce summed it up well. Floyd retaliated in a way allowed by cortez. Joe didn't look in control, he brought them together and lost focus, in the meantime floyd saw an opening and brutally exploited it.

Pac is number 1 today but we all saw a new number 2 arise and one who'll be the favourite come fight night.

i have no problem with floyd being the favorite, slight or clear for this fight. after all, pac was supposed to be the underdog coming from the lower division, the naturally smaller guy and has the stylistic disadvantage. but don't confuse pac's recent performance to having lost his lust to inflict damage. the last time an opponent got on his nerves was hatton and he payed dearly for it with pac looking as vicious even after hatton was all over the place already from the round 1 drubbing. i have a hunch that it's the same case with marquez and that if pac won't beat marquez, with bad intentions, then i can agree with your theory that pac has really softened up on his desire to "kill opponents." after all, he has this quote after the margo fight that "boxing was not for killing".

Other than two free shots at VO Floyd hasnt Ko'd anyone. He's not gonna ko pac, not even Floyd thinks he will ko pac.

If you want to draw conclusions on how pac is open to the lead right because of the JMM fight id wait until the next JMM fight instead of travelling years back in time.

Floyds legs aint what they were. Pressure is the fundamental key to beating floyd in my opinion and pac brings it in spades with speed, power, stamina, solid chin a sth paw stance and a master strategist in his corner.

As for pac mellowing etc..no. His psychological game is relative to his opponent, he's said it numerous times.

Pac is an Asian gentleman. You pay him respect and he's gonna reciprocate.

Floyd is gonna talk so much trash beforehand (and in fact already has), that Pac is gonna feel his honor smeared and he's gonna go in there with a vengeance.

I still see the fight about 50-50, but it's not gonna be any fighter's eye of the tiger that's gonna matter.

I don't care what floyd thinks, i'm offering my own opinion :good ortiz was eating them rights for fun and was never lasting the full twelve based on what we saw.

Again why wait further when I feel i've seen enough evidence. If pac can technically negate jmm's counter shots then maybe my stance will change back, but i'll be happy to see that develop in the ring.

I'm just not convinced pac will be big enough to evercome such a skilled opponent.

Exactly my point. "my opponent is nice so i'll be nice" I don't think he has the killer attitude any more. Again maybe he'll prove me wrong against marquez but it'll be good to find out :good

No you silly *****. Floyd's the favourite because of a number of reasons. These are compounded in my opinion because I believe he'll do anything to win and I doubt pac still has that mentality.

Size, style, lack of decline, all that is still there. I now feel floyd will be made a favourite by the bookmakers, do you disagree?

Floyd was always going to be the betting favorite over Pac. The problem is like a have been saying for almost 3 years, the fight will never happen. Pac will fight his 3rd fight with JMM then Bradley, then his 4th fight with JMM, then Martinez after he loses his title and is 45 years old.

Only way this fight happens is if Pac gets away from Arum. Then Roach wont let it happen until he sees that Floyd has slipped with age.

Lets not forget Floyd turned to Cortez after the headbut not looking at Ortiz.
What happened to protect urself at all times ? looked like let me get my ref over here.
Floyd had no answers on the ropes. He has no defesnse for lead lefts either.
B4 defenseless and bizarre ending Ortiz laid the blueprint.
    Southpaw lead left cant miss

You best believe Pac would be his ****ing savage self if he ever fights floyd. Man If Floyd fights the way he's fought in his last couple of fights. Pac-Mayweather would be epic.

It'll be interesting to see the battle between pac's lead left and floyd's straight right!

Pre fight I had pac as a favourite because I thought floyd would surely show signs of declining.

To be that good and that ruthless at this stage, I don't see anyone beating him atm.

    Hopefully khan or pac next!

Only if Pac wins. They could have a Hagler Hearns style fight and if Floyd wins disappointment would run wild.

Then all the excuses would start.

In short, lil floyd is scared to face Pacquiao that's why the fight will never happen.
