Jermain Taylor Made it extremely far before pavlik dethroned him. The reason why he was able to get so high is because he never fought anyone in his career that was a high level fighter who could BANG!.... bhop-spinks-winky-ouma.... none of them guys are bangers really.. jermain taylor's defense isnt that great and he doesnt like to fight bangers. he gets scared..... and after pavlik shattered his confidence and froch made it even more obvious that froch will forever be scared to fight big punchers and that the kelly pavlik fight will FOREVER haunt him for as long as he steps inside of a ring....

congrats jt you had a great career... hang them up before someone knocks your block off for the 3rd time

He has the toolkit to bang and hang with anybody, his natural stamina deficit betrays his "bad intentions" no pun intended!!

good analysis. i also think jt showed exactly what not to do against froch and laid the perfect blueprint to beat him. look what happened when taylor started getting tired...instead of holding on after throwing, he danced around. looked a lot like what cotto did against margo....throw and dance away. mosely would throw and then get in close and wrap up if necessary agaisnt margo which was the logical thing to do after watching the cotto fight. i can see a top level smw watching this fight and doing exactly what mosely did to margo. press forward, throw and then get in as close as possible and wrap up if necessary. i don't even know if the ref had to seperate jt acnd carl all that much in the last few rounds. thats crazy considering how tired jt was

froch has a damn good chin and stamina...i was impressed with that

Jermain Taylor can always rebound, he has the skills to do it, but it's going to be a tough journey, and it will be a shame if his career peaks with the Hopkins wins.

He made his footprint or his name mainly after the Hopkins back2back wins. Stylistically, he did well against Hopkins, because Hopkins doesn't have a high work rate and is more of a methodical fighter, non pressure.

We now know that he doesn't do well against pressure and high work rate; two things both Pavlik and Froch have. In a sense, Winky kind of exposed some of his weaknesses by walking him down and giving him so much trouble in their fight, the problem is Winky didn't have the power to take him out.
