imo the main reason malignaggi didn't pull out the victory was because his mindset was to wait until he found an opening for one big shot to knock khan out from the get go and paulie fights best at a somewhat busy pace with movement and when he is focused on letting his hands go first,

there was no head movement and it really surprised me that thru the entire fight there was not one adjustment made for the jab! he walked into it all night and stood right there without circling, which is a big part of his game to make a guy miss.

paulie's performance showed that he was maybe too overconfident on putting khan out leading up to the fight.
So all the mental games he was trying to play worked against him and in the end it was him who was worked up too much to fight a smart, disciplined fight. Its a truthful statement to say paulie is a b level fighter that loses to the a level fighters simply because he can't make adjustments. some guys make up for it with the 1 shot power to change a fight but with neither of those paulie might be done.

Pretty much. Malignaggi's only real edges were chin and experience and neither made a difference. Too much to overcome.

Agreed. With the way Khan fought, Paulie didn't have a chance.

This ^^^ I also picked up on the corner advice about round 8 or 9 where sherif told paulie, your doing better because your pressing...I knew then they approached this fight wrong, gameplan wise....I said before I have never seen paulie press the action like that....

Paulie works all his arsenal off movement and his defense....and he didnt have any tonight......

Even roach said the gameplan for khan was to cut off the ring because paulie will move.....khan just beat paulie in a pure boxing chess match....

Khan proved he a much better boxer than Paulie.

Paulie has no power what so ever and he has no defence. Usually his defence relies on his speed of body movement to avoid punches but khan proved that he is much quicker than paulie and without any technical defence paulie was unable to avoid Khan's stiff jab.

I would now like to see how khan's boxing skills will hold up against a brawler like maidana.

I think khan v alexander would also be a hell of a fight.

I heard the corner thing too and thought it was terrible advice. Paulie's luck finding good corner people who click with him has not been good. Certainly not Buddy before either. And I like Buddy as a fighter and person but damn did they not mesh.

The main reason he lost was because he was totally outclassed. He's a good boxer, but Khan is a higher caliber.

I honestly didn't see any improvement in Khan's defense. He was starting his attacks from way out sometimes, pawing with punches to work his way inside, and guys like Bradley and Alexander are going to laugh at that ****. He's not good enough yet to take on those two, but give him time and hopefully he can improve some more. I don't know why we have some really, really excited people about the performance, virtually nobody gave Paulie a chance anyhow. Really bad style match up, Khan has faster hands, is the bigger man, and actually possesses some power.

You didn't watch the same fight, did you? His jab was great and and his accuracy was superb.

His jab was very effective indeed, was throwing it like a power punch which is nice to see, but his accuracy was less than superb. People are building the performance up as a massacre and brutal, but the only shots Paulie was really getting tagged with regularly was the jab, and I felt he deserved to at least see out of the 12 rounds. He had no complaints, however.

Amir Khan performed well, but he was rushing in with his chin up in the air, and he seemed a little predictable with his attacks...Paulie Malignaggi, having knocked out only five opponents in his career, was never going to capitalize on said mistakes, but the likes of Bradley and Alexander almost surely would.

Good, efficient performance from Khan...but one we all went in expecting.

    malignaggi didn't follow the gameplan

sherif was asking him to dart in and out and outbox khan but malignaggi was lookin' to put the hurt on khan.
