Everyone has a former weight and where they fought best. Hearns and Leonard never had the power at 160 they had at 147. So that means we should disregard the Hagler fights? By that definition Hagler really never fought the greats when they were really great since he fought Duran and Hearns and Leonard at least 2 divisions away from their best weight. Duran had a championship when he fought Hearns. 147 or 154 was not a huge deal for Duran when he lost to Leonard and Benitez and Hearns since he did fight at 154 as early as 1978, before Leonard or Hearns or Benitez ever fought there. He would fight tuneups at 154 when he was lightweight champ. The problem with Duran which is not true with Pacman is that Pacman fought fellow greats in the lower weights. Duran did not really. So his great opponents were when he moved up in weight, so if you disregard his fights after lightweight, then his lightweight career is not that great. Can't have it both ways.
