Read the boards. There are always some threads, made by Pav fans, about PW being scared of pav, refusing to fight him, blah blah blah... But they always ignore the facts...

Paul's promoter (Goosen) told Kelly's promoter (Arum) to **** OFF after he cost the Williams camp a lot of money setting up training camps for the fight, only to be cancelled in a very unprofessional manner. Regardless of the obvious sickness suffered by Pav, the whole situation was handled so unprofessionally, that they decided they had been through enough. This decision was made BEFORE Williams' tough fight against Martinez and certainly BEFORE the fight with Pav and that guy from the soap opera, Espinoza, or whoever he is...

So after the two sides decided mutually that it was better just to let it go, Pav and Arum decide to save face after being ridiculed by many in the boxing community; by calling out Paul, knowing full well both sides decided to walk away from the possibility of fighting for now. So his "calling out" was merely a stunt.

Seems as though his trick worked since you now have fools running around talking **** as if he is justified. Because of course, most fans aren't privy to, or chose to ignore the actual facts behind why the potential fight collapsed.

And you have some of these idiots quoting Bob Arum as if he's Jesus Christ or something. If Arum says it, then it must be true.

Well, the reason they're so obsessed is simple. Pav was made a fool of after his debacle with the staph infection. I'm not saying the infectioon wasn't real and dangerous. But for his camp to play around with the schedualing and timing of the fight, to have clearance, then all of a sudden postpone TWO TIMES was jusr ridiculous. Thye should have never signed the fight, and then agreed to the first extension, then have the nerve to ask for a third. And all his fans can do at this point, is criticize a guy who no one can blame for walking away. It somehow makes them feel better.

DiBella knows how to properly handle the issue and put it in perspective. Why would this be hard for Williams to do? Show me the harm done to Williams. First fight postponed and he later takes a fight of the year candidate as a substitute. Please. Stop with the gorilla dust. Boxing is a business and **** happens.

"There are no substantive issues on the paperwork between me and Arum," DiBella said. "The only issue that exists is that Kelly has had some health issues and I want to know that if Sergio trains for the fight and Kelly is forced to pull out for some reason that Sergio would able to fight another opponent we agree on in Montreal on the Bute undercard.

"If something happens and Kelly's staph infection comes back or he has another problem with his hand, we want to be able to fight somebody else on that date. My guy can't have another long layoff. But there is no issue about anything between me and Bob. I just need to get this worked out with HBO, but I don't think it is going to be an issue."

    Heres the facts.

Kelly and Arum offered Williams the same fight contract that pavlik and Williams agreed upon earlier last year.

Yes, Kelly backed out because of an acute deadly case of staph infection. Regardless of your ability to understand it, thats what happened. Theres doctors and records to prove it.

Now that Pavlik has healed, Arum offers the same contract stipulations to Williams only to see camp williams clam up like a mouse in church.

In the meantime, williams walks around stating that no one wants to fight him and that hes the most avoided man on the planet.

    Are you serious?

First of all, I understand what a staph infection is. Problem is, Team Pavlik seem not to understand.

Why would they sign a fight when there was a chance it might not take place?

Were they lying when they said they had medical clearnce (the first time) and were they lying when they said they had medical clearance (the second time)????

Why would they keep postponing a fight with an organization that they have had trouble with in the past (regardless of who is at fault) especially when the two promoters involved (Arum and Goosen - in dealing with Williams vs. Margo and Williams vs. Cotto) don't have the best relationship?

Seems like they were playing with fire and Willaims Camp grw tired of it. I don;t think he was faking his infection, but the way he handled the situation cost someone else time and a lot of money.

And they said they were done. And the walked away from the table for good, before the Martinez fight.

Why should Paul Williams accept the same terms as before? Pavlik backed out twice and cost him a ton of money, I doubt Bob Arum was willing to cut Williams a check for the amount of money wasted on the previous camps. So why should Paul Williams who held up his end of the bargain twice agree to the same deal a third time?
