It's really a punk move first and foremost Rios isn't a full fledged ww two he's not Mayweather where he can make such demands regarding the gloves ..Brook needs to man up and fight someone already in his weight class again

I think you need to make clear if it is the British Boxing Board of Control, Hearn or Brook who has the issue with certain gloves.

Robert Garcia in an interview said it was BBBofC (UK commission) that has the issue with the gloves.

Maybe you should give a link to a credible article, interview where it proves Brook or anybody directly connected to him has made these sort of demands because I can't find one.

You have made a claim without any real evidence, probably just some rubbish you've read on Twitter. All I did was ask for a link because I couldn't find one to ANY article and you can't produce one.

Go on YouTube and find the interview with Garcia where he names the BBBofC as the people with the problem, he calls it the "UK Commision".

It was a simple request, you made the thread, you claimed to know the reason why the fight wasn't made. I do not see why you have such a problem with producing a link, article or something to back up your claims.

It would be a voluntary defence, there is no need to fight Rios anyway, if they don't want the fight they don't have to take it so why go to all that trouble?

It makes no sense, Robert Garcia has said in an interview it is the BBBofC who has the issue.

In the interview Garcia is referring to the negotiation meeting he had with Hearns. first 45 seconds

 

I don't see how its a huge issue as long as gloves are agreed on in the actual contract. ( I called Floyds move a cheese move because it was NOT in contract) edit: ok if Rios has a sponsorship I can see it being a big deal. Powerlocks don't seem too popular, most Everlast users seem to prefer the MX.


GGG and Kovalev both wear Grants. :conf Grant makes a perfectly fine punchers glove, judging from the glove choices of some top punchers anyhow.

I do remember Hearn saying it was the BBBoC as well, but as for whether it was Hearn pressuring them behind the scenes... who knows. I don't really see why he would, and I don't see why he would even entertain the fight if it was an issue.

When I ask a simple question you can't answer it, basically just show us where you got this information.

All I have asked is for a link, some sort article, interview or proof from a credible source saying Brook has done this, That's all.

If you are correct I will hammer Brook myself.
