Part 1. Jermaine Taylor Audley Harrison Danny Willaims Evander Holyfield James Toney Roy Jones Junior I'm gonna leave this topic for 3mins and 2 seconds, and then i'm going to come back with part 2.
After Jermaine Taylors 12 round K.O lost to Aurthur Abraham.. After Danny Williams shock prize fighter defeat.. After Audley Harrison's knock out lost to Michael Sprott and lost to Martin Rogan, and years of maybe underachievement. After Roy Jone's devastating knock out lost to Glenn Johnson. After years of James Toney being out of shape, and neglecting the basic fundamentals of the sport. After poor performances from Evander Holyfield, health concerns... In life some people say, you can only die once. I totally disagree with that, death in my opinion is not just dieing physically, because where more than just a solid bunch of mass..where a bunch of atoms....and something greater has to control all of that. Anybody who dedicates to something, so much that a becomes more than a hobby, more than task or whatever the **** you want ****ing call it. When it becomes apart of your everyday life, and it affects everything you do..that's when something becomes you, I'm not just talking about boxing, I'm talking people to dedicate to a certain professions, certain way of life. You are a person, you as Man, you as a human being....................... Each and everyone of those boxers i have mentioned up above, people have been calling for their retirement. I feel that retirement is like dieing........ Not all boxers die in the ring, but guys like Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Nigel Benn, these are fighters that to me, died in the ring..there not the same anymore. Apart of their souls and personnas dead..! because you see, some fighters will never retire unless it is beaten out of them, warriors go and keep fighting until their is no more, until there is no more fight. A warrior my opinion is not just someone who, fights with their fists..the two warriors in my life are my parents. But as we are on a boxing site, there has been many topics on this forum, but their has never ever been a serious topic about retirement. Sometimes i wonder, what are the psychological affects..? when a boxer retires..? How do they integrate into normal society..? And my honest opinion is, i don't think can integrate into normal society. For them to do that, they have to stop being what they are inside the ring, that's is why none of them guys up above will retire. Because inside they are still the same, it's only until it is beaten out of them, only then can they move on. I think basically this scene from Rocky 4, somes it all up... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46_eNNkRrH8[/ame] I think its why you see many men, turn to drink in old age..and basically just kill themselfs.. Because their already dead...
