Ok, between Tszyu's IBF and Chavez' WBC title, Hoya did go for the easier bout but that doesn't say much as Chavez was still a formidable opponent and the title defece against Gonzalez was a very good win for Hoya. Plus, I heard that the Kostya fight did not come off due to bad timing more than anything. The thing is Hoya had his eye on entering the welterweight division and did not rest too long at 140 otherwise I'm sure the Kostya fight would have been made. When Hoya enters 147 he does so against the hardest opponent possible, an older Sweet Pea but still P4P #1 rated boxer in the sport and highest rated welter.

I read that top rank approached oscar about the fight. The chavez family is very much interested in the fight since they say jr. wants revenge for what oscar did to his dad.

Hoya and Bob Arum had enough power at the time to demand Tszyu. But that is like demanding to stick your hand in a Pit Viper's den.

Oscar will be able to demand the higher purse, as he is in all reality, the Superstar here. At this point, Jr. is so hungry for blood, he would do it for between 5-7 million.

No. That time is past. If it would have went down, it was to have gone down in 1996. Oscar has 2 opponents left, in all reality. If he REALLY wants to push it, and Sugar Slave beats Margarito, he could try that avenue, but I see Chavez and Tito on his radar.

Till this very day I still FEEL for YORI BOY; Oscar made millions and YORI was paid 3 nickels and a DIME !!!

Ps Yori still fights on a regular basis with HEART AND SOUL- Win or lose.

It's things like that, that disgust me about the Fishnets. He is not all HBO and the press make him out to be. I am not fooled by Hoya. He had a chance in 1996, to face Tszyu for the IBF and instead chose an aging Icon. Bad and really stupid business decision, almost as bad as choosing Pac at 147.
